Yeah, no official word yet, but I have predictions already!

Now that Vivienne has felt the power of having tiny pets--both the cat and Nils the journalist--she wants more. The final scene shows that she's found Nils after the lab explosion.

I'm guessing that she has a limited amount of the miniaturization chemicals and wants more, so she shrinks Lindy--and maybe Lulu too--to blackmail Les into making more. But Vivienne forgot one important thing: you don't underestimate little Lindy. She may be tiny, but she be fierce! She can get herself out of a terrarium!
This is actually quite plausible.

Kinda OT but I am wondering if there is hopefully a size trend happening. The opening of Euphoria has Sidney Sweeney grow as a GTS peeking at an SM masturbating over her while having a GTS fantasy of her inside a building pressing her giantic boobs in the widows. Basically GTS porn!

Understandable, but I'm not sure that directly translates into more SW, plus I feel like the show is taking advantage of Sweeney's in-demand bombshell status for cheap shock stuff.

Slightly in that trend though, Miniature Wife debuted in the Nielsen streaming originals top 10 at #9, which according to tvline seems to be pretty good news, so that may be enough incentive to at least consider a second season.

lost among all this glazing of this most "peak midness" of productions is the fact that the actual SW bits are so cheaply made... we didn't even get hand-to-tiny interaction, and where there was it was:

a) the hand was either moving extremely fast so the frames are just movement blurs (how convenient), or

b) I think there was 1 scene where Les holds the wife but it doesn't feel real and it wasn't above AI slop level tbh

none of the SW scenes (if they can even be called that) are above AI slop level and in fact you could just make them yourself...

I think even the super old Land of the Giants may have had better production values and effort, and that one's over a 100 years old (also very content-free SW-wise, there may be a kinda okay SW moment here and there, but... meh)... at least the blond woman character was cute, here the actress is 52 years old!

frankly, I forget this worthless thing even exists except when I check on this forum and ppl are still glazing it

anyway, it just goes to show SW fans apparently can't catch a break: before, we lived in a desert with just a drop here and there of content, and then trash like gen v and min wife show up to tell us "yeah okay we're doing SW now but it's gonna be so mid, lo-effort and content-free that it's actually meant to crush your hopes of SW content being made again... this is the new standard, what you're getting from now on, behold and despair"

like, what I'm trying to say with the above paragraph is also a general trend in everything which is that nothing is made with effort or ideas anymore... somehow, despite orders of magnitude more money, tech and population count existing today than at any point in human history, somehow everything today is made with the lowest effort and no ideas... I don't know how to say it... everything truly is so much lesser, and vacuous

I know you've said your piece about Banks being 52 but, well, I happen to think she looks damn good for her age.

*The following are screenshots from episode 6. I had to jack up the lighting. Also added a censor box not necessarily to hide who's involved, but because that person is distracting.*

BTW, I got these because the series seems to have been uploaded to dailymotion if anyone still hasn't seen it yet.

If the scenes you mention are just above AI slop level and you could do better yourself, then go ahead and do it!

To be honest, I find your views a bit immature and typical of someone focussed on their own interests. The show wasn't intended to be a vehicle for our own peculiar fetish fantasies, but an original and entertaining story that would appeal to a mainstream audience. I personally found it engaging and extremely entertaining throughout, and could easily identify with the characters and their situations because of the acting (which was great). As for the production values and special effects, I thought they were visually superb. But then I'm not a nerd. I just enjoyed it for what it was, a unique and refreshing departure from the straws that we've clung to in the past from movies and television. So let's be thankful for having it!

I agree with pokonota, as far as special effects went, they clearly kept the budget in check. For a series whose central conceit is a shrunken person, it was apparent that they did not lean into the concept, visually.

Yeah, I am pretty sick to death of this outdated conceit that any woman over 50 is automatically unattractive. Banks is extremely hot.....and is just one of many Hollywood Actresses today who are over 50 and are still incredibly sexy.

This take on a beautiful 52 year old woman is certainly "peak mid-ness."

Unless I'm severely out of the loop, there is no news on whether it's even been renewed, let alone any trailers. What you probably saw were YT headers saying Season 2, but I've checked a few and those are speculation videos.

What I can say is the showrunners are seemingly intent on keeping this going and do have ideas for a second season (obviously going well beyond the scope of the short story - we're in "HBO makes shit up for Game of Thrones before GRRM does" territory.

Considering the villainess is still kicking around, I can imagine a revenge side-plot that drags in everyone in the family's orbit so maybe we could get additional SWs?

To quote Kajira: 'Don't piss off the SW!".

Lab explosion? Just like in "The Subject" by Darkmoor. (Though that lab explosion did away with the evil Dr. Cassandra Willover aka The Crimson Tide.)

(And spoiler tags please. Some of us have still only watched clips so far. I think I've already found out too much.)

Lulu finds out what really happened to her mother, and Les shows his dark side.

Some flashbacks:

(I wonder how far back that last flashback is? Lindy is wearing her wedding ring, and she tells Richard/Richie that she's faithful to Les.)

(Also, I "upgraded" the second clip in my earlier "Lindy vs. the fly" post to one without "color commentary".)
