We all know that in the Land of the Giants TV show, the Spindrift was not the only ship to land on the Giant's planet. Numerous other ships had crashlanded so often that most giants were more than aware of the "little people". In my headcanon, this will have been going on for decades, long enough that some ships have crashed in locales close enough for the passengers and crews to commingle, and eventually propogate. Using their advanced equipment and knowledge of technology, the descendents of these survivors eventually learned to live with the flora and fauna of the Giant's planet and exist as a race of mythical "Forest Sprites".

Some daring descendants of the orginal little people have even moved on to taming and riding the highly venomous snakes which the giants go out of their way to avoid.

In time, the giants have learned to avoid huge areas of forests where venomous snake activity has increased dramatically. The few giants who foolishly enter these areas are seldom seen again.

I've posted several times of Japanese Bonsai Art, but in all fairness I should also post some images in tribute to the Western World's equivalent, the beautiful art of the Terrarium.

Of course it's when they start blooming that terrariums show their true beauty.

An exciting new innovation in the fashion industry is the shrunken model. These tiny ladies allow great savings in fabric, food, tranportation and lodging costs at all major fashion shows and photoshoots.

These tiny models were really popular with the "Alternative Fashion" crowd.

However, after a certain point the shrinking of models hits a point of diminished return, because they are too tiny for the audience to see. It doesn't matter that you can feed 20 shrunken models with a single banana and a teaspoon of peanut butter per day, can carry them all around in a shoebox and lodge them in a medium sized hamster cage. If the audience can't see the actual fashion clothing, all the cost savings don't matter.

In the end, fashion industry experts eventually agreed that a 1/5 scale reduction leading to models 15 to 18 inches tall (40 - 45 cm) would be the perfect size for both cost cutting and display purposes.

What if a French Existentialist wrote a novel about a shrunken woman in a dysfunctional Parisien bourgeous household in the 1920's, then a Swedish Avant Garde director made it into a black and white movie in the 1950's, and finally an American cable TV studio colorized and broadcast it in the 1980's?

Got it! One of my favorite episodes, because Deanna Lund was absolutely gorgeous in that tight ballerina outfit. Going to have to gen some homage images one of these days.

This got me thinking about doing an homage image series of what I personally thought was the hottest costume Deanna Lund ever wore in the series. Of course the outfit is not screen accurate, but I tried to get the basic vibe of the color, fabric, structure and form in each image.

As long as we're on the subject of LOTG, I think a seriously under represented lady character should have some time in the spotlight. I'm referring of course to the plucky stewardess of the Spindrift, Betty Hamilton (as played by Heather Young).
