The Unexpected Valentine

For the umpteenth time, Jasmine wished she hadn’t done what she had done.

And for the umpteenth time, Jasmine reminded herself that she didn’t have a choice. Not if she wanted to get back together with Rob.

Jasmine had graduated high school a couple of weeks ago, shortly after her eighteenth birthday. In a couple of months, she would be starting college.

And therein lied the rub.

Jasmine’s long-term boyfriend had enlisted in the military. Their plan was to get married when Jasmine graduated college.

The problem was Jasmine wanted to wait until after they got married to be intimate with Rob. Rob didn’t want to wait.

So Rob broke up with her.

Now Jasmine was trying to get back together with Rob. She had gotten hold of a dose of Shrink, shrinking herself to four and a half inches in height. She was wearing a dress made out of chocolate, and “packed” herself in a box of chocolates to send to Rob.

Jasmine was nervous as hell, but she was trying to save her relationship with Rob.

Besides, oral sex and shrunken sex weren’t real sex. The President had said as much.

Jasmine remained quiet as the heart shaped package she was in was jostled about. Finally it came to a stop. She heard the tearing of paper, which she knew meant the shipping package her candy box was in was being opened. Jasmine took a deep breath, reminding herself she was doing this for her and Rob.

Then the candy box was opened. Jasmine looked up. The giant face looking back down at her didn’t belong to Rob.

Reed loved his younger brother Rob. He really did. The two had nothing in common, and there was an eighteen year age difference between them (Reed was the oldest of ten children, and Rob the youngest). But Reed still loved his younger brother.

Reed still thought his youngest brother was a punk.

Rob had recently broken up with his long time girlfriend Jasmine because she was waiting until she was married. Rob had immediately started dating any girl he could find who wasn’t interested in waiting.

Reed thought it was a shame. He had met Jasmine a few times at big family functions. She was a very nice young woman who was definitely easy on the eyes. Reed wishes he had met someone like Jasmine when he was Rob’s age.

Not that Reed had any complaints. He was a top researcher at Emca Tesseract Physaceuticals, with a high six figure salary and stock options to show for it.

Still, Reed sometimes wished that he had met someone like Jasmine when he was Rob’s age. It would be nice to have someone to share his success with.

Reed had just gotten home, and was getting ready to spend a three day weekend doing absolutely nothing, when there was a knock on the door. He signed for a package to R. Bannon at 1401 Wesson. At least it looked like the initial R. It might be a name smudged by water. The package could have been for his father or any of his brothers still living at 1410 Weston. Reed got packages that were meant for his family all the time. His mother even teased him that the only reason he bought his present home was so that there would be mail mixups and he would have a reason to come over and have dinner with the family.

Reed wasn’t expecting a package, and was sure it was meant for someone else in his family.

Might as well open it up and see who it’s for, Reed thought to himself.

Reed opened the package to find a heart shaped box of candy, but no note. And there was no return address. Reed decided that he better open the candy box, in case it contained a “surprise” (good or bad) meant for one of his brothers still at home.

When he opened the candy box, Reed discovered something he wasn’t expecting: his youngest brother’s ex-girlfriend, shrunken to four and a half inches tall, wearing an edible dress made of chocolate.

Reed was a senior researcher at Emca Tesseract Physaceuticals, a company best known for its production of Syrriknoumenosoros, a pharmaceutical that existed in four spatial dimensions. And having dealt with human test subjects of Syrriknoumenosoros (known colloquially in popular culture as Shrink), Reed was used to seeing people less than half a foot tall.

Still, when unexpectedly confronted with someone four and a half inches tall, his first instinct was to reach out and pick them up.

On Jasmine’s part, she was already having second, third and fourth thoughts about shrinking herself to win back her ex-boyfriend. The last man she expected to see was someone she had hoped would be her brother-in-law one day. So naturally Jasmine’s initial reaction to seeing a giant hand reaching for her was to curl away from it.

Jasmine’s reaction snapped Reed out of his stupor. Looking at Jasmine, Reed asked the question with the obvious answer. “Jasmine, what have you done?”

Jasmine started babbling, barely able to remain coherent. “Rob…me…I just wanted us back together…I got hold of some Shrink…”

Reed frowned at the use of the word “Shrink.”

Syrriknoumenosoros had a lot of useful medical applications, but the primary focus of the public was on its recreational use. Since Syrriknoumenosoros was fairly expensive, the number of people who could use it recreationally was limited. So naturally a bootleg version (known as “Shrink”) was being produced in offshore labs and sold through dealers. The problem with Shrink was that there was no guarantee about its consistency. And, since it was being taken without proper medical supervision, there was no guarantees of the results.

Jasmine had been rolling the dice when she had bought and taken her dose of Shrink.

“I thought you were saving yourself for marriage?” Reed asked.

Jasmine blushed at the fact that her virginity had obviously become conversational fodder amongst Rob’s family.

“Shrink sex isn’t like real sex,” Jasmine managed to stutter out.

Reed gave an internal sigh. The current Prime Minister had been accused of an affair with an international intern. The prime minister flatly denied the affair. When it was discovered that the prime minister had had an “encounter” with said intern after the latter had taken a dose of Syrriknoumenosoros, the Prime Minister had countered that Shrunken Sex wasn’t real sex.

The youth of the nation had taken that distinction to heart.

Reed wasn’t worried about semantics at the moment. He was worried about someone he knew having taken the street version of Syrriknoumenosoros. The fact that it hadn’t killed her was a good thing. But now he was worried about the drug wearing off. Syrriknoumenosoros removed itself from the body in measured stages. There was no telling how Shrink was going to interact with Jasmine’s body.

But Reed was determined to make sure his younger brother’s ex-girlfriend survived her encounter with Shrink.

Jasmine couldn’t have been more mortified. Not only had she not been received by her ex-boyfriend, she had been discovered in her shrunken, chocolate dressed state by Reed, Rob’s thirty-something year old eldest brother. Jasmine had always had a secret crush on Feed, secret even from herself. She always hoped that Rob would eventually grow up into the man that Reed had become. In addition, Jasmine had “daddy issues,” with her subconscious casting Reed into a paternal position of authority.

So while Jasmine’s conscious mind was mortified beyond words at her present situation, her subconscious mind saw the present situation as a dream come true.

Jasmine’s mind startled back into reality when Reed repeated a question he asked her. Reed was asking her to describe the Shrink pill she had taken. Talking about how she had arrived in her present situation embarrassed Jasmine even further, but it reinforced the role of Reed as a father figure in her subconscious.

As Jasmine described the pill, a look of relief came to Reed’s face. Of all the street versions of Syrriknoumenosoros available, the one Jasmine described was the relatively safest.

Relatively being the key word.

Jasmine finally begin realizing she might be in more trouble than just having embarrassed herself. “Am I going to be okay?” she asked.

“You’re going to be okay,” Reed reassured her. “But I’d like to accelerate the ‘Shrink’s’ effects on you, and get you back to normal size as fast as possible.

“How do we do that?” Jasmine asked.

“By stimulating your body’s production of endorphins, oxytocin, dopamine, and prolactin,” Reed answered.

“How do we do that?” Jasmine asked. “Pills? Shots?”

Reed shook his head, with his face becoming flush. It took him a couple of tries before he could reply, “By giving you orgasms.”

Before tonight, Jasmine had never been nude in front of a guy. The furthest she and Rob had ever gone was a little light petting above the clothes and above the waist.

Now Reed was suggesting that she go a lot further than that.

Unable to look Reed in the eye, Jasmine answered, “All right. Just be careful with me, please. I haven’t done anything like this, not even at regular size.

Now it was Reed’s turn to be floored. He thought he’d been suggesting to Jasmine that she take matters into her own hands, so to speak. Instead, she had just given Reed the green light to play with her shrunken virgin body.

Reed lifted Jasmine up to his face. The two simply stared at each other for a few minutes before Reed suggested, “Maybe you should take off your tags first.”

Jasmine nodded and reached behind her, undoing the collar around her neck, letting the tags slip off and drop to the floor below. The two stared at each other before Reed gently stretched Jasmine on her stomach, flat on his palm. Jasmine did nothing to resist. Reed begin carefully breaking off pieces of Jasmine’s dress. Jasmine breathing increased, her face turning red, but she didn’t make a sound.

Soon Jasmine’s body was completely exposed to Reed’s eyes, with crumbled chocolate trapped between the front of her body and the palm of Reed’s hand.
