I'm realizing even from what saw before that I've really underestimated the scope of this show. I mean, I shouldn't considering these are the Gen V people working on the effects, but it just keeps throwing new stuff at us. I especially love the end scene with the bird because we see Lindy and Les reacting right next to each other instead of needing a massive gap to create the invisible wall where they insert Banks' greenscreen stuff later.

Honestly, even I weren't into SW, this still looks like a blast. They mention 80's and 90's and it's really like they've blended virtually every size trope from those eras into one super package.

This is going to be absolutely wild.
Yeah, it is!

I think of all the novels, stories, and comics I've written, and all of the non-sexual situations I've put my SW characters in, and this has them all and more.

I love the prop design, especially the tape measure from the trailer and the car seatbelt in this. I want to know why she's using the tape measure and who's driving the car and where they're going.

And they're clearly exploring how long-term shrinking will affect her mental state. We've NEVER seen that before. Incredible Shrinking Woman barely scratched the surface.

We're hitting the mother lode.

Here's some behind the scenes stuff along with some new AMAZING scenes from the series!

You've gotta see this for yourselves, everyone. It's utterly fantastic! And we may have the answer to the question of how Lindy gets in her pajamas.

In a word, WOW! Only 22 more days, not that I'm counting.
Well, it really looks like the effects aren't anything we haven't seen before. Even the "sitting on the open hand" handheld instead of a grasping handheld. Here in the US, they always seem to take the easy route with stuff like this, and when there has been so much better stuff from other countries over the decades.

We've only seen less than 5 minutes worth of content from a 10-hour series, so maybe there is a grasping handheld they haven't shown.

The open handhold makes sense for what appears to be early in the series. He's gently coercing her out of the dollhouse. If the series goes darker in later episodes like the story does--or if there's an outside antagonist who captures Lindy--maybe there is.a grasp. I think it's too early to rule it out completely.

I noticed and processed something from this video.

There's a behind-the-scenes shot of O-T Fagbenle (playing RPW--Richard Paul Weir from the original story) all rigged up in front of the green screen. That implies that he's gonna get shrunk too. In the story, the husband suspects that RPW shrinks himself to have sex with the wife. Fagbenle has said in interviews that his character has an unrequited love of Shakespearian proportions and that it was challenging working with the green screen. He said he studied how Matthew Macfadyen did it. What's more Shakesperian than shrinking yourself to be with the one you love, especially if the process is irreversible? This new video may have given confirmation that Lindy isn't the only one getting small.

I agree. There's a good chance that the good stuff wasn't in the trailers. It's just that so far, I'm not getting my hopes up. I also didn't like the idea of Lindy doing some sort of mission with that scene where she's holding the bow and dressed in black. That just seems very unrealistic and something you wouldn't let a SW do because it would be highly dangerous for her.

considering that she literally breaks out of that miniature house by brute force, im willing to conclude that she going to take the risk.

also did anyone catch that footage of her failing through the toilet? what is that about?

It makes way more sense! And also forgoes any questions about the logistics of piercings, fillings, or anything else shrinking with her. Seeing her looking up all frazzled in her nice outfit after being shrunk has such realism to it.

Could not agree more. As significant as as Gen V was/is for SW in the mainstream, it's still more focused on sex and superpowers. This show has the potential to bring SW into dinner conversations in a way that Gen V didn't, since even people who mention watching Gen V rarely want address the giant penis in the room. Lizze's dedication to the character made for some amazing moments, but the attention to SW was limited.

This time, the focus is 100% on shrinking, and Lindy's experience as a tiny woman. And we've got Elizabeth Banks, who is seasoned in physical comedy, literally pouring herself into the role. I can't get enough of watching her react with her whole body to everything. The earnestness and budget of this production combined with the talent is something this community has yet to experience.

Seriously! They clearly worked hard on making it feel realistic. I love the shot of her cuddling with his finger, and it bodes well. It will be very interesting if the show takes off, and casual conversations about this topic are suddenly happening in mainstream places. It could also give some people here a casual avenue to open up the topic with their partners if they haven't gotten to do so yet.

I think you're right, which is disappointing. Not surprising, though, with so much focus on shrinking, and Chekhov's Gun at play. We just can't ever seem to have SW on its own, but I'm not about to look a gift horse in the mouth. This also means that other women might shrink, too. Who knows what might happen if they pick up another season?

Agreed on all counts, and really hoping that they're saving the best shots for later. It also makes sense that Lindy escapes and gets herself into danger, rather than Les intentionally allowing it.

Seriously, considering there's no known way to reverse the process and the story needs to keep focus on the two leads, he's likely not going to stick around. It would be an interesting injection of drama and cause a rift between Les and Lindy, though I doubt Les will stoop to murder or anything. I imagine it'll be an accident - the cat gets him or he comes in contact with one of the formulas (botched growth formula that makes him explode or another dose of the shrinking stuff that makes him disappear.

New little teaser:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWHF9YnETpQ/

Not much new in terms of SW content, but it suggests that Lindy and Les have been in couples counseling. With almost all of the main and recurring roles confirmed, this may be where Tricia Black as Hel fits in.

Oh, and tiny Lindy has a potty mouth.

One shot looks like tiny Les sitting on a matchbox or something, situated on a countertop of some kind.

I noticed that too. Wondering if maybe it's a dream sequence. Lindy wishing he'd get a taste of his own medicine or him fearing it.

And Lindy doesn't have to wear doll clothes, which are now sewn with monofilament (fishing line) instead of thread. (And they're "scratchy", according to Leyna Shaw.)

I wonder if the seatbelt scene was inspired by the Disney Channel movie Luck of the Irish?

And I think that there should be a separate sub-forum for The Miniature Wife, with a thread for each episode (plus this thread). This is probably going to be a once-in-a-lifetime event. (Not that I'm going to be able to watch it, thanks to my sister, the one who hasn't died of cancer...yet.) Other sub-forums of this message board get little regular activity. Why not one more?

More likely just a cool prop they could build to show her small. And how else would you transport a six-inch lady in a car?

I had the same thought when I saw the seatbelt. It feels like an homage, and if so, it's an indicator that the showrunners really did their homework when it comes to shrinking media.

Fun fact, if Luck of the Irish did inspire them, it would be the second major production this year to be influenced by it. Evidently, the movie made a big impression on Ryan Coogler regarding Irish culture, which played a role when he wrote Sinners: https://deadline.com/2025/11/ryan-coogl ... 236619175/

Who wouldn't be inspired by Marita Geraghty at a perfect one-foot height?

Hey there, folks!

Here's a new article in DuJour magazine, and it's got a few interesting reveals in it. Read at your own risk.

Here are the big ones:
SpoilerShow
Lulu, their daughter, will learn about Lindy being shrunk. There will be a nose hug.

Just like in the short story, Lindy's gonna burn the dollhouse down.

Assuming you mean Lindy burning down the dollhouse, i spotted something in the behind-the-scenes video.

At 1:14, something on the dollhouse wall sparks. In the background, there's a door with a Post-It note that reads "Don't ever enter here," which means she will enter there. It's a Chekov's Gun kinda thing. If the dollhouse has electrical wiring, maybe that's where it is and how she burns it down. Just a thought.

okay never watched any of this film, just screenshots.

Just watched the clip, I have not heard a pronounced Irish accent that bad since watching one, of several, Murder She Wrote episodes that were set in Ireland.

My Irish uncles and my grandparents would be turning over in their graves if they knew about this film.

Also the Mother is played by an actor from Chicago. Just found out the actor, Marita Geraghty, played Nancy Taylor in the 1993 film Groundhog Day, a local resident whom Phil Connors (Bill Murray) targets for a date by pretending they went to high school together

Just a heads up for tonight March 24th - Jimmy Kimmel will have Banks on to talk about the show.

EDIT: Just saw it, actually not much to go on. (skip the first part of the interview, it's just banter).

The featured clip is the dinner scene where Lindy has the tiny turkey - it's around the holidays (I think Les said Happy Thanksgiving, I'm blanking for some reason). Lindy's still pissed and demanding to be made big again, Les says he can't yet, it'll take a day or two, Lindy jumps up with "I could die tiny?!" End clip. Bonus, Kimmel's first line: "Husbands are always shrinking their wives, huh?"

Banks showed a few BTS pics with giant props:

-She's behind a cutout of a Fiji water bottle looking like she's trapped inside.
-She's standing next to a giant plunger mentioning she climbs it ("It's a classy show" she quips). Of course that's likely where she falls in soon after (been wondering why - unless she's intent on never returning to the dollhouse, she should have her own plumbing to take care of business, right?)
-She's holding part of a phone charging cable plugged into an outlet.

Banks talks about the metaphor for "diminishing each other's needs" in a relationship and the difficulty of trying to imagine the scene as she acts: "I've never been more mentally unprepared for a role than this." She mentions offhand passing by giant salt and pepper shakers and the cat attack.

That's pretty much it I think, like I said not much.

Guys......GUYS....THIS IS IT!!!
This thread started two years ago today with this announcement. We've waited two years so far with another 15 days left. As rscholar said back then:

The Kimmel interview was cool. Nice reveal that the post-shrink scene seems to be on Christmas Day. (Regarding the turkey dinner, she says, "Do I look merry or hungry?") The article I posted yesterday says that Lindy is a creative writing professor, so her time shrunk at least starts during holiday break. An upcoming semester provides another ticking clock to go with the 30-day patent deadline at the lab.

Also, some cool oversized prop reveals (a phone charger, plunger, and FIji water bottle).
Almost there...
