Stuck working security at a "Furries Convention", I decided to miniaturize one of them and take them home to add to my Beanie Baby collection. She'll make a nice addition to the Pink Collection....as well as being useful for other things.

Surprisingly, my tiny girlfriend doesn't mind being a part of my anime figurine collection.......as long as she is the only one I play with.

I was setting up some class experiments in the college lab where I worked as a student aide when she walked up behind me. She was a new girl at the university, young and pretty and she asked me if I could tutor her in Microbiophysiology so she could catch up. She flitted her big blue eyes, flipped her ponytails and casually shifted her feet. I knew what she wanted.......answers for the upcoming test. How did I know? Face it, I'm a geek. Picture Micheal Douglas in "Falling Down", but with a pocket protector. White short-sleeve shirt, narrow black tie and horned rimmed glasses. Get it? I'm definitely not her type. But I agreed, gave her my address and told her come by at seven......with a pizza.

She got to my house at 7:45, but she did bring the pizza, so I didn't mention her tardiness. We sat down and I tried to talk to her about the subject information while we ate some of the pizza. I knew she really wasn't listening and she abruptly got up and walked across the room and saw the hamster cage that was set up on a table on the side of the room.

"OMG. This is a cool cage. I love pink". (as if I didn't know from the way she was dressed) "But I don't see any hamster. It's empty. It needs something to live in here."

At that, I was no longer pondering what had been running through my mind since I left the campus. I got up and took the Matter Manipulator out of its case, quietly set in to 1/12 size reduction, pressed the charge button and turned it towards her. She still had her back to me, looking into the cage when I pressed the discharge button. In a second, she was reduced to five inches tall. As she stood there stunned and in shock, she didn't even scream or try to run when I reached down and picked her up.

"I picked this up at the pet store on my way home today. I figured you like the color pink and since you're gonna be spending quite a bit of time in it from now on, I wanted your new home to make you feel right at home."

Simone was a DEI hire. She couldn't type, couldn't take dictation, couldn't answer the phone properly, she couldn't even make a decent cup of coffee. I couldn't fire her, so I shrunk her and made her the office pet. She's not too happy about it, but at least she still has a job...........with benefits.....for ME.
