Gwen had entered a Linsey Lohan lookalike contest for a part in a new movie, a sequel to "Lifesize", but in this movie, Ms. Lohan was to be shrunk to the size of a doll. Eighteen-year-old Gwen won the contest and signed a contract to appear in the movie, but she failed to read the script or the contract, being starstruck over the opportunity to meet and act with her idol.
The plot of the movie revolved around the unexplained shrinking of the lead actress and her tribulations as a 6-inch-tall young woman. She would be nearly trampled on a sidewalk, chased by a cat, found by a young girl who thinks she is a doll, then tormented by the girl's older brother until she is discovered by their mother who makes the tiny girl her pampered pet. She finally escapes and returning to the alley where she was first shrunk, she is restored to her normal height. Ms. Lohan, of course, would be filmed in all the close ups, using green screen, when necessary, but Gwen, as her stunt double would be used for the scenes where her face would not be noticed.
On the first day of shooting, Gwen arrived at the studio, was sent to makeup and wardrobe, then led to a strange room that resembled a sci-fi laboratory. She was instructed to lie down on a stainless-steel table, and then she was miniaturized to 6 inches tall. In shock and terror, she protested but was told that she signed the contract. She would remain at her miniaturized size for the duration of the filming, estimated to take nine months.
Filming began and still not conditioned to her size, her "acting" was totally believable. She ducked, dived and rolled out of the way of giant feet tramping on the sidewalk and struggled convincingly in the grasp of the child actors and their mother. At the end of each day, she was taken home by the director where she was taken care of by his 10-year-old daughter to keep her "in character" for the filming.
Filming ended when Gwen mysteriously disappeared after she had just filmed her escape and return to the alley. They had just filmed a scene where she was trapped in a Barbie Doll box, but the box containing the young actress vanished. A search of the property and persons was conducted, but no trace of her was found. The movie was never released to the public theaters, but did show in numerous private theaters of wealthy donors.
No one knew that coincidentally Gwen's disappearance coincided with the 8th birthday of the Ms. Lohan's daughter.......
