Remember Lizzy Thorton? Professor Thorton's daughter that was shrunk in a lab accident as a teenager? Well, she spent a full year as a tiny before her father perfected the matter restoration device and once restored, she went on a wild streak to make up for lost time. And she got pregnant and had twin boys, now five years old and she and boys are still living at her parent's mansion. One Saturday afternoon, Hanna, a girl from the neighborhood, was hired to babysit the boys. After putting the boys down for a nap, having heard rumors of the professor's experiments and inventions, she decided to snoop around. Finding the door to the lab unlocked, she went and began looking at all the gages, dials and buttons, all set for a 1/12 matter reduction. As she turned to leave, she tripped over a power cord and trying to catch herself, the palm of her hand hit the start button. She fell directly onto the platform, the machine fired its beam and Hanna was shrunk to approximately 5 inches tall. She tried to climb up to the control panel, but it was woefully out of her reach. She left the lab to try to get to her cell phone to call the Thorton's for help, but the boys had just woken up and saw her. Now, a serious game of "hide and seek" began. Hanna ducking under and behind furniture with the boys in hot pursuit, trying to catch her by throwing a baseball cap or a hand towel over her. She managed to get to a door that was slightly ajar, and she was able to squeeze her tiny body throw the gap and outside. She stood there for a couple moments, transfixed by a strange and foreign giant world all around her. Then she saw something familar.....a garbage can that looked "normal" size. She jumped into it, pulling a scrap of napkin in with her and pulled it over her head as she scrunched down in the bottom of the can. She heard the boys walking around and talking, then one of them saying "I give up. I can't find the dolly". She thought she was in the clear. Just hide until she hears the Thorton's car pull in the drive and they would return her to normal. Then, from directly above her, she heard one of the boys saying "Vroom, vroom..beep....beep....beep.....beep". Her heart dropped into her stomach as she came to the realization she had picked the wrong hiding place.

Calista was surprised to receive an invitation to Rebecca Thorton's party. The two had never been what you would call friends and they ran in different circles. There had even been a little bad blood between them over a guy, but she thought that was way behind them now. She decided to go, just to meet some new people if nothing else. An hour into the party, after she had consumed a number of drinks, Rebecca grabbed onto her arm and said "Hey, commere.....I wanna show you somthin". Rebecca took her to her father's lab and told her to stand on the metal plate where the shrinking subject would stand. (Of course, Calista had no clue about what was about to happen to her). Rebecca played with a couple of the knobs and dials, then said "Okay, Calista, this is gonna be way cool". Hitting the start button, a bright light enveloped the room and when it cleared, Calista had been miniaturized to five inches tall. Rebecca snatched her up and took her outside. She dropped her in the grass and said with a sadistic grin, "You had better start running, you little bitch". Then she called out to her friends, "Hey everyone. Here's the new game I promised you. It's called "Catch the Little Tramp named Calista". Find her and you win a prize." Calista, her mind still swimming from what had just happened to her, gathered her senses just enough to know that yes, she had better start running.

Connie seemed to have a promising soccer career until she was shrunk in an accident in the Microbiophysiology class. Now back home, her dad bought her and her brother a Foosball table. She quickly found playing Foosball with her 17-year-old brother cheered her up and gave her at least some of the fun and exercise she had had on the soccer field. And it seemed her brother had gained quite a bit of popularity with many of his classmates, all of whom wanted to "play" on the new Foosball table. Some of the boys, though, seemed to be trying harder to have their players kick Connie in her cute little ass than kick the ball...

Shelby and Katylyn were pledging to the "female nerd sorority" and arrived to begin their hazing. Unknown to the girls, their hazing included being miniaturized by a machine created by one of the girls studying microbiophysiology, followed by the other sorority girls hunting them through the house. The two terrified tiny girls were given 5 minutes to run and hide, then the hunt began. They managed to climb high on a shelf where they hid behind a coffee cup and crumpled up paper towel. Katylyn panicked and Shelby had to pin her down and muffle her with her hands when they heard one of the sorority girls say, "Okay, I got the scotch tape and Q-tips. Anyone find them yet?"

"The Collector" saw a Power Ranger publicity event happening downtown, so he thought he might find something to add to his collection of Power Ranger paraphernalia. (The Collector was a billionaire evil genius with a vast collection of Hollywood memorabilia, what he could buy, he would buy, what he couldn't buy, he stole) Believing what he was watching was a group of cosplayers, he thought he might want to add a special item to his collection, a "live" Power Ranger. He settled on the Pink Ranger and waited until she was on a break and alone. He miniaturized her with his matter reducing device, tucked her in his coat pocket and went home. It wasn't until then, when he took her helmet off, he found he had not collected a cosplayer, but the actual actress from the movie, Naomi Scott. As he felt her trembling in the palm of his hand, he thought "I think I'll have to break the primary rule of collectors and play with his one".

The cage sounds fine, I am used to it, and there is more room and air than those awful jars.
But as you probably know, Shrunken Women HATE CATS with a passion! So like Haley, I am probably safer in my little cage!

A rock singer friend of mine made a comment on Facebook that she wished she could shrink her friend and fan so she could keep her with her always. So being the good friend that I am, I called Professor Thorton and he lent me his matter miniaturization device so I could make my friend's wish come true.

I was trying to guestimate how tall Connie was and ran across this interesting article on table football by the American Smithsonian Institute:

The Murky History of Foosball

I could not find anything that definitively said how tall a regulation foosball man had to be, though there was quite a bit of discussion concerning the shape of their toes. So, basing my guess about the height of the foosball men in the picture above on a limited survey of replacement foosball men, I'm going they say they're four inches tall. Using that scale, I'd estimate Connie's height as being somewhere between five and five and a half inches tall.

I would guesstimate, you are correct.
