Science Lab, A Small Miscalculation (nudity)

Probably the most accurate reflection you'll ever see in a collage, seeing as how I used the model's actual reflection. I don't recall ever seeing anyone do this. Too bad the original image didn't leave much of the refection to work with.

The story is how it is because I felt the need to account for her turning to loot at the camera.

Yes, a pity about the cropped reflection (in the original model pose), but you used what you had well with the background.

It can be achieved in Photoshop using layering and various tools, but can be a bit time consuming (at least with my own ancient version of PS)

Keep up the good work!

Reflections are quite difficult to get right. I've used "mirror images" by flipping the image, making it transparent and merging it below the original image, but if the original image is not perfectly flat at the bottom, it doesn't look quite right, though only someone searching for defects may notice it. This one was done using the flip technique. Close examination would reveal the flaw where the feet meet the reflection.

Image

This image was done the same at Zera describes, the original model image had a reflection on the mirrored floor the model was sitting on, and I used layers of the handheld mirror to get the final image.

Image

In this one, I found a dorsal and ventral view of the same model in the same pose. Then I found a picture of a dollhouse mirror being held by a hand, and layered it to get the mirror image, then added the background, ventral view of the model, then all the accessories to complete the image.

Image

I think both of them came out pretty good for someone who is not smart enough to figure out how to use Photoshop !!!

And if I may be allowed to critique Zera's image in the original post, she did a magnificent job. She chose two images that really go together as far as the color qualities, and they blend together perfectly. Many artists fail to do this and while their technical skills are good, the final image suffers. This image would be easy to imagine that it was an actual photograph.

I was kinda hoping someone would challenge my above statement.

I did end up darkening the background slightly in order to work a bit better with the modal.

It worked well. I love the contrast between the cold sterile monotones of the lab and the warm vulnerability of the tiny lady.

Image

Barely visible, but I added the reflection on the lady on this one, using the "flip and transparency" technique.
