I was thinking the same thing. Maybe for syndication? That scene is still one of my favorite Valerie sequences. Although even if I thought the box was empty, I think I would stick my hand into it instead of using a ruler.

Here's another flight of fancy.

Imagining the producers were actually able to shrink the main cast for more reality (and to save money building giant props), we now have a situation where finding the right kind of giant hands becomes a priority.

So Valerie now finds herself helping to "audition" various normal size actors, to find the right kind of hand to use in the close ups.
Luckily, there is no shortage of volunteers wanting to help with this task, and even the film crew are wanting a piece of the action!

Valerie hadn't reckoned she'd have another role to play apart from her acting, when the producers realised that her popularity could be an asset for plugging the show. So taking advantage of her contract agreement to be reduced in size for the shooting, they decided to make her the focal point of a publicity drive!

She secretly hated being singled out for these promos thinking it unfair on the rest of the cast, and told them so. But the producers said that it was all in her contract.. and she'd signed it! Though without obviously reading the "small" print!

So that was it. The Company had her in the palm of its hand, and she knew it. Which was ironically proving to be quite literally true!

"Exercise"? Uh, yeah. Exercise.

Unlike the original version of "Collectors item", there is no one around to prevent the old man getting to little Valerie.
So the plot has the giant reaching into the cage and grabbing her!

Not surprisigly, she finds this the most stressful part of being shrunk for the role by the studio, where she can imagine how a huge powerful hand could easily damage her if the actor was careless. But being handled by the giants is all in her contract, and there's no getting out of it!

Thanks Rusco57. I agree it is nice to portray Valerie being handled, which we were often wanting more of in the show. Luckily I have a few suitable poses of my own to help make that happen.

Even after a hard days shoot and feeling tired after repeatedly being handled, the director insists on getting one more scene out of her in her outfit.

But this time it's a publicity promo for an upcoming episode, "The Creepy Clown Circus". Which sounds as crazy to her as what they're having her do! But at least it's paying the bills! (created with some collaged AI imagery)

These are about the best pictures I've found of Betty but being 1960's technology, they are still very grainy. Any of the AI pirates out there able to clean them up, sharpen them up and generally make them usable for collaging, it would be appreciated.
