My last update reported that Elizabeth Banks said they'd be promoting the show during the Olympics. Well, those start on Friday. Let's all be on the lookout and ready to share.
It's almost here! Yay!

There is MAJOR news![]()
We might have a first episode release date!

I'm not sure whether this means that more episodes will be released on that same day or they'll release them weekly (my preferred option, honestly), but it's coming soon!
I don't have further confirmation about this date. This is just a Google search. If I find anything to corroborate it, I'll let you know.
Thank you, @MollySmalls! Was this the major news you meant?

Re: Elizabeth Banks to Star in "The Miniature Wife"
That April 9 release date is appearing in multiple places when I search, so let's assume for the moment it's true.
I did a little research into Peacock's three previous new series release dates, particularly when their trailers dropped.
The Copenhagen Test
Official teaser: 10/12/25
Official trailer: 12/8/25
Show release (all 8 episodes): 12/27/25
Ponies
No teaser
Official trailer: 12/15/25
Show release (all 8 episodes): 1/15/26
The 'Burbs
Official teaser: 12/4/25
Official trailer: 1/9/26
Show release (all 8 episodes): 2/8/26
Based on those timelines and a 4/9/26 show release, I expect Peacock to release an official teaser this weekend to coincide with the start of the Olympics, with the official trailer in early March. Are we ready to finally SEE how it looks? Because it's soon.

I tried to post it here, but couldn't grab the pic, but I saw a promo picture for Ponies with two tinies on a giant reel to reel. Maybe someone at Peacock likes this stuff. (Im not saying there'll be SW content in Ponies, but a SW esque promo pic and a whole series about SW, you never know).

Hadn't realized Raso beat me to it, but there it is.
Also gotta say that they kinda borrowed from my story "Sticky Notes," which is currently being made into a comic for ShrinkFan.

Re: Elizabeth Banks to Star in "The Miniature Wife"
The Wikipedia page is listing all 10 episodes as being released on April 9. Not my preferred way to view it because that's a super busy work weekend for me and I won't be able to binge it. But that's not really a complaint. I'm just happy it's almost here.
That being said, I think once it happens, we should create 10 separate threads, one for each episode, if that's okay with the forum moderators. That way, people can follow at their own pace without fear of spoilers. What do folks think about that?

Going by what happened with Fallout season 2, they likely fear that a weekly pace would destroy viewership and any hope for a second season.scidram wrote: ↑Thu Feb 05, 2026 6:52 pmThe Wikipedia page is listing all 10 episodes as being released on April 9. Re: Elizabeth Banks to Star in "The Miniature Wife"
So now that we've lived with the teaser for about 9 hours--and each watched it a dozen or so times, right?--who's up for some analysis?
First off, the special effects look fantastic. And with ten hours worth of content, who knows what they aren't showing us. I'm still predicting that Lindy at one point will be stuck inside Les's desk drawer at the lab. But there are a couple things here that I'm pleasantly surprised by. Allow me to itemize some stuff.
But if anything today has shown us, it's that this show is really, really happening. The premiere is 9 days away. It's the final countdown. YAY!

I'm still predicting that Lindy at one point will be stuck inside Les's desk drawer at the lab. But there are a couple things here that I'm pleasantly surprised by. Allow me to itemize some stuff.
- The teaser implies that the shrinking process renders Lindy unconscious--unless she was already asleep when it happens, though I tend to doubt that. I predict them having some kind of marital tiff right before it happens.
- She wakes up in what she seems to recognize as her own bed but without Les there. Makes sense because he didn't shrink. She wanders to the door where there's at least one perfect Post-it note: "Please don't freak out." Okay, one Post-It doesn't make it anywhere near my story Sticky Notes, but I'm happy to see it.
- The dollhouse is clearly a scale model replica of their own house, which is kind of a bummer. Would so love to have her wake up in an actual dollhouse. I know this helps perpetuate the moments after waking up and being disoriented, but it is a little letdown for me. Especially because it appears that the dollhouse has a working phone, which likely means it has other working appliances, electricity, and plumbing. Who has a dollhouse like that? That's very Tabitha King Small World stuff, so I hope there's a strong in-show reason why they have a scale model replica or their house.
- However, huge props to Lindy talking with a shrunken bullhorn! That helps makes the situation more believable. Since they took into consideration how quiet her tiny voice would be, I'm really curious what else they took into consideration.
- How cute is the moment when they stand separated by the dollhouse window, her hand on one side of the window pane and his finger on the other?
- Matthew Macfadyen is playing the situation really patronizing, and it works considering the source material. I hope that's not his only way of playing it, but considering how strong an actor he is, I'm sure he gives Les lots of layers.
- Great giant chocolate bar! Obviously, we recognize the shape of that piece of chocolate and the rest of the bar (and wrapper) behind the sofa. I really hope that they got permission to use the Hershey bar trademark to make it look cooler. Maybe, just maybe, that's in process and this teaser just has the identifying stuff digitally removed but will be there for the show.
- Oh no! Lindy falls to the floor! And there's a Roomba! At six inches, she's too big to get sucked up by it, but she will have to get out of its way. Maybe she can take it for a spin.
- How awesome is Lindy inside the teacup? Makes me wonder if that will be a preferred mode of transport. As much as we can still hope for a handheld, riding in the teacup is probably safer.
- And finally, ELIZABETH BANKS IS THE MOST ADORABLE SW EVER!
But if anything today has shown us, it's that this show is really, really happening. The premiere is 9 days away. It's the final countdown. YAY!

Re: Elizabeth Banks to Star in "The Miniature Wife"
Dear lord we're finally in it! Wasn't expecting the teaser drop today but in hindsight it makes sense since April 9 is 9 weeks to the day.
That said, as cool as this is and as much as I wish the preview were longer, honestly, I have some misgivings too.
My takeaways from the teaser:
-I knew we weren't likely to get any process and this is an intro to the general public so it should indeed be a surprise, but we have yet another post-shrink "reveal" moment like so many others. I get that like the book that the shrinking will likely be instant, but at least the story had her processing the situation real-time (I think, I could be wrong). I imagine we should get a flashback to the shrinking itself - like Scridam said, she could walk in on him wearing her nighty, they get into it, he "slips" and zaps her, then cut to her tiny lying on the floor
-That said, Banks' reaction was adorable.
-The pic of both of them in the wide shot where he's holding the tiny bullhorn is a good indicator of scale, but I can still kind've imagine where the fx team composites the two actors so they can realistically appear together. Plus, there's over-the-shoulder and blurred backgrounds to help create the depth of field, as well as the "touching hands" shot separated by the door. I'm just hoping we get interaction, something that really sells "holy crap she's tiny."
-Giant chocolate! What woman wouldn't enjoy being tiny with that to look forward to?
-For some reason, the last shot with her sitting in the cup is my favorite - she just looks really cute there and the sass helps. I think that's because the dollhouse looks so realistic so her being around an actual normal sized object indicates her smallness.
-I get he's essentially the foil/antagonist with his bruised ego, but Les to me comes off like a bit of a doofus. Between being inept and the promise that he'll lash out (that being the crux of the plot and all), he's going to be hard to watch. I really hope he has some kind of moment of self reflection to even things out.
-I really, really want to believe that they truly love each other and that the "hands to the door" scene indicates that there will be some tenderness, but considering the source material, loose interpretation as this is, I'm not holding my breath. It would be so great to see a mainstream SW story that can show the world the size difference can be romantic and sweet. Hell, first comment on the official Peacock Youtube clip: "Who wouldn't want a giant Mr. Darcy?"

I'm still extremely excited for this so please pardon me for being a debbie-downer. As posted, Banks will seemingly get to discuss the show in the coming days/weeks and we'll see where this could really go. If nothing else, Banks attempting to discuss what it's like acting like she's been shrunk will make for fun viewing material.
