Re: Elizabeth Banks to Star in "The Miniature Wife"
Haven't had many details come out since MIPCOM, but I happened across something.
https://www.releases.com/hot/tv-series_peacock/2026-q4
This site, called Releases, claims that we might have to wait another full year before the show premieres. I'm hoping that's not true--that it's just there because there's literally no information about the show at the current moment--but I didn't want to not share this. I'd rather us be prepared for bad news and be happier if it releases sooner than not know anything.
I want to doubt this since they had the exclusive screening at MIPCOM. To me, that alone should imply an earlier release, but who knows?
As always, I'll keep you posted if I find something else. Hopefully there'll be something that disproves this.

The only way I could entertain such a (terrifying) thought is that Banks hasn't mentioned anything about it and she's been taking a bit of a sabbatical so it will probably be a while before has to go on a press tour.scidram wrote: ↑Mon Oct 27, 2025 12:06 amHaven't had many details come out since MIPCOM, but I happened across something.

I double-checked and I think this could alleviate the anxiety a little - considering the FX team is the same one from Gen V, looking up the production schedule shows the following:
Season 1: Production wraps Sept 2022, premiere is Sept 2023
Season 2: Production wraps Oct 2024, premiere is Sept 2024
While I'm not sure if "production" means absolutely everything or just filming, but it's roughly a year. Filming wrapped on Miniature Wife in July so presumably at the latest we would be looking at June/July of 2026. I couldn't find an exact time the trailers for either season of Gen V launched, but I'm seeing something like 2-3 months on Reddit.
We're already like 3-4 months since MW wrapped so I don't believe it will somehow be like 15 months.

The trailer for Gen V Season 2 was released on June 1, so 3+ months ahead of the premiere. But that's on Amazon Prime.rscholar wrote: ↑Mon Oct 27, 2025 1:32 amI double-checked and I think this could alleviate the anxiety a little - considering the FX team is the same one from Gen V, looking up the production schedule shows the following:

Peacock released the trailer for their upcoming series "All Her Fault" about 2 weeks ago, and that show releases on November 6.
Gen V has a lot more SFX than Minitaure Wife should. Seems like they're doing a lot of practical oversized effects and green screen, so it may not be as long a post-production as Gen V.
But at least those give us ballparks of time between trailer and premiere.
Again, I don't fully trust the Releases site, as there's really been nothing to indicate anything for The Miniature Wife. I just wanted to share anything I find.

Might the timing of the trailer be dependent on where they slot the series into the overall schedule?
Could that be something that hasn't been finalised yet?
Apologies if that's already been discussed. It was just something that popped into my head.

Re: Elizabeth Banks to Star in "The Miniature Wife"
With no new information about the show since MIPCOM, and the current curiosity about when the show might be released, I decided to research the production, trailer, and release information for some other recent and upcoming shows in Peacock's 2025-2026 season:
The Paper, comedy: Filmed from 11/24 through 3/25, trailer released 8/7/25, all 10 30-minute episodes released 9/4/25
All Her Fault, mystery thriller: Filmed from 8/24 through 10/24, trailer released 10/10/25, all 8 episodes will release on 11/6/25
The Copenhagen Test: Fil, sci-fi spy thriller: filmed from 10/24 through 3/25, teaser released 10/12/25, premiere scheduled for 12/27/25, 8 episodes tentatively to be released weekly
There's a Wikipedia page for upcoming Peacock programming, which lists other shows that are filming or recently wrapped. None have a specific release date, though Crystal Lake lists a 2026 premiere, while The Miniature Wife does not list that.
Of those three, The Paper took the least time (6 months) to go from wrapping filming to release, which makes sense as it had shorter episode lengths and likely had the least post-production to go through (no effects, less incidental music). It may have scored an early release because of its connection to The Office. Meanwhile, All Her Fault took the most time (a year) to go from wrapping to release, though I can't imagine it having much effects post production. And The Copenhagen Test, which likely does have effects, is taking about 9 months from wrapping to release.
So what can we expect for The Miniature Wife? Filming was from 1/25 through early 7/25, so we're almost 4 months removed from that. Based on the other schedules, we've got at least another 2 months but probably more due to more extensive post-production needed to make Lindy six inches tall. Also, there are 10 60-minute episodes, adding to post-production time. We know a teaser trailer was shown at the NBCuniversal Upfronts in NY & LA back in May, which I would guess included practical effects (oversize sets/props or forced perspective) rather than other effects because the show was still filming at the time. Also, we know one episode was shown at MIPCOM, and there may be more already completed. Since none of these shows premiered more than a year after wrapping, it looks no later than July 2026.
But if they made such a big deal about the show by premiering an episode at MIPCOM--which they didn't do for any of their other programming--then maybe we'll get a sooner release. Their latest announced release is The Copenhagen Test at 12/27/25. If they indeed do weekly releases for that, then March 2026 could be a possibility, which would be two years after the show was first announced.
And then there's the question on the 10 episodes releasing at the same time or weekly. Honestly, I'd prefer weekly so we're all kinda watching together, with no one too far ahead of anyone else. If they all release together, I'm might have to take a day off from work to binge it all!

I'm willing to bet that this would be a show they would advertise during the Superbowl to premiere after the game on Peacock.

Oooh, that's a great point! NBC does have the broadcast rights to the upcoming Superbowl, which will also be streaming on Peacock. So let's mark February 8, 2026 as a potential trailer release date.
Thanks, Firewall!

*Bows*
It is worth noting that the Winter Olympics will also be happening so no chance that this show will air an episode on TV.
If I was marketing I would probably go with an line like: "The biggest game in the world meets the smallest woman in the world" *20 seconds of footage* "Elizabeth Banks in The Miniature Wife. Watch the trailer now!"

New article published today says early 2026 release. Also it's been picked up by HBOmax to stream Latin America

Re: Elizabeth Banks to Star in "The Miniature Wife"
I find it kind've crazy they've been able to get this show into 70 different countries and do these prestige screenings when the early articles mentioned the network was on the verge of passing on it when someone had to pipe up and tell them the actual subtext and change their minds at the last minute. While I doubt it will be the case, could you imagine if this became an international hit like Stranger Things or something?

I just finished watching Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building, which I enjoyed, but I felt that the teaser in the finale for Season 6 was tacked on. It's like they filmed it in the hopes of getting a Season 6 renewal but didn't edit it into the episode until they knew for sure. I'm kinda hoping The Miniature Wife has done something similar, like maybe filmed two endings and will decide which one they're going to use based on viewer response. That would mean the couldn't drop all 10 episodes at once, which I also prefer so we can all watch the show at the same place.
I just have this pipe dream of the first season being about keeping her shrunken existence under wraps while Les tries to restore her, and a second season where she's still shrunk but her existence is known. After all, the show is called The Miniature Wife, so if there's a second season, you still need her to be miniature for the title to work, right? A guy can dream...

If they go into multiple seasons, I hope they get really creative. Maybe have Lindy have a reoccuring dream where she gets her height back, but shrinks back down at a really inopportune time. Or dreams that she shrinks to nothing or has fantasies of swapping her size with a female adversary.
Ok, I'm getting carried away.

Nothing new in it, but here's a new article dated today. It confirms the MIPCOM premiere drew strong buzz and reiterates a release is in early 2026.

Now we just need the (closest) timings and we're good to go. Or more selfishly, just so I don't start paying to watch a channel too early, that I wouldn't normally choose to watch lol!
Thanks Sci.
