Turns out San Diego State has an active student exchange program with Lilliput Tech. As a tradition, student athletes believe these diminutive students bring good luck to the school's sports teams, so the jocks always tend to keep some of them around in the athletic dorm as little mascots, even though this one would probably rather be studying.
