Not many people realize that for the filming of the 2005 remake of King Kong, while CGI was behind many of the special effects achievements in the film, actress Naomi Watts was actually shrunk down to doll size for her portrayal of the character Ann Darrow during interaction sequences with Kong, played by Andy Serkis.

At the time, the technology utilized was exclusive to the production company, Wingnut Films. While corporate security measures have withheld the necessary documentation to confirm it, it is widely suspected that the same technology was involved in the production of 2017's Downsizing as well as the upcoming Peacock series, The Miniature Wife.

In this image obtained exclusively by TMZ, we see an early "scream test" of Miss Watts as Darrow, recorded after she had been shrunk and placed on director Peter Jackson's desk.

So I guess this means they used a normal sized gorilla for King Kong?
