SW Community Status?

Post by ShrunkenBonnie » Thu Aug 06, 2026 8:57 pm

I've been interested in shrinking for most of my life and been around the online communities since before I was "allowed". But over the last several years it seems what was once the shrinking community has really disappeared or at least has gone places I'm not sure where lol.

I know I haven't been the most active recently, but being a mom does that lol; which is also why I probably "lost touch" with the community as it changed. But has the SW community moved or changed? What are others opinions
Cheers,
Bonnie

I also lament that the sw community seems to be on life support or something... I made sw animations to sell on gumroad and I really thought it'd get some attention but I scarcely could feel a pulse anywhere.

Anyway, I'm here if you want to chat or interact, I've also been looking for ppl to share thoughts abt sw with

Breaking my exile for this, most of us moved to Bluesky (I'm on here)/Twitter (ugh)/Discord.

If you mean to say you were *cough*under*cough*age when you discovered the SW community, OH MY GOD SAME. :o

I wonder if I was 15 when I started posting on Minimizer's forum. I also started posting stories which were probably very cringe since English isn't my native language. My secret hope is that my younger days on the Internet go the way of the Dodo and never get seen/mentioned again, so don't bother asking me what my username used to be.

And yeah. the community's gone pretty quiet, but let's be frank, it was never that busy to begin with. I lurk here from time to time and I'm on a few Discord servers. Sorry I don't post more.

I was 13 when I started posting on The Process Forum many moons ago.

It was never mainstream busy, but I would guess the peak height of the SW community was maybe the 2000s to mid-2010s. In the later years, video content from size fetish creators was a golden age, Media Impact got big and other creators like MissaX, 11fifty, Shrinxx, and RedParrot all had great SW content. Shame it's all offline now, except Media Impact, who is still creating and upscaling old content for their own Fetishlands/SizeFetishZone website and Clips4Sale. With the other creators, there is nothing in stores like ManyVids or C4S, with the former's owner going a bit loopy recently.

Drawn content was great on DeviantArt until the unreasonable banning, kinda forcing creators to use their e-commerce stores to "limit" bans, image download limits for non-paid members, forcing more use of their GenAI. Even I have been bugged by DeviantArt several times about my 3-panel Herretik commission I uploaded many years ago to my profile to monetise it. Fuck off! I commissioned it to say thank you to the SW community, and it's for everyone. In my book, any money made should go to Herretik, who "disappeared" when DeviantArt started being less free and more "controlled."

Sigh, looks like forums are slowly going away too, most get into triuble so fast and before you know, it's no more and all that posted content is gone. To counter this, I decided to finally expand my Discord servers list, recovered my Twitter account (meh), recovered my Reddit account, new account on Pixiv/Pixiv Fanbox. Maybe BlueSky & Meta soon too. Still love forums though.

The SW community is thriving and gaining acceptance. Just look at all the movies, the "Honey, I shrunk the kids" series, the German "Help, I shrunk my teacher" series, the miniseries on Peacock "The Miniature Wife", and now with AI, people who were just lurkers can create their own SW art (is it really art? The jury is still out on that). I do SW collages for Facebook Photoshop groups, and they go over very well with the other members, even the "victim" usually likes it, and some of them have asked me to create more images for them. It may not be the "same" community as we once knew, but it's still here and thriving.
