Well, for those who remember my style, I'm not the quick and done kinda guy. If ya'll remember the original Toobin', there was a LOT of shrinking...weeeeell, take that and jack it up to a factor of Holy $hit!

That's why you're a legend! There's hundreds of slow shrink SM stories out there that are chapters upon chapters long. There are only a handful of slow shrink SW epics out there and I think you and Min wrote most of them.MarauderTDL wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 5:15 pmWell, for those who remember my style, I'm not the quick and done kinda guy. Re: Who else dares to write ???
Carrying that particular theme along, let me add a shameless plug for another epic slow shrink written by me (published under my mostly real and totally not fake public author name) and published by Tanstaafl Press. "Lady Hornet" is a full length novel wherein ordinary Elizabeth Fontaine dreams of being a superheroine, and when she gets the chance to buy her own superpowers, she jumps at the chance...but buyer beware! Bet you can't guess what happens next...well, okay, maybe you can, but how will the former ordinary office worker handle not only having superpowers but gradually getting smaller and smaller with every passing hour? Not to mention the budding romance with the hunky hero who got her into this mess in the first place...
Sounds like fun, right? You can buy the electronic copy here! It's only five bucks...come on, you spent more than that on lunch! Printed version also available, if you click on the right link.

Lol! Can't blame you for a bit of shameless publicity Mr Min. You've been around since the dawn of this fantasy, and welcomed many of us into the best forum we ever had.Dr.Minimizer wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 11:30 pmSounds like fun, right? I'd possibly be a customer, but our size preferences have always differed. But I wish you jolly good luck with it sir!

Same here. Sometimes my stories lose steam. Although a couple of SW stories ended pretty nicely. Maybe I'll post a couple of them. I believe, most of the time, you must have a plot synopsis as a roadmap to lead you to a conclusion. Having that storyline goal will help finish the storyline. But I try not to be a slave to the plot synopsis -- especially when writing SW fiction, since numerous little scenarios arise during the writing.Aussie_Lurker wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 12:26 amBased more on what other people have said to me, I am very good at STARTING stories.....but I am absolutely awful at completing them.

If it makes you feel better, this year has been the year I decided to throw caution to the wind and post stories. I literally have like 4 short stories I'm figuring out what I'm going to do with myself.ClipCarson wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 11:59 amSame here. Sometimes my stories lose steam. I literally had to put a huge story( The Cost of Science) that I was developing on pause just because I am drawing a blank at the moment.
It's definitely nerve wracking at times to figure out how I'll make an interesting middle part and ending for me.

So my story would start with a joke (stop me if you’ve heard a before):

Re: Who else dares to write ???
Going back to the original premise of this string...
Fear of writing shouldn't keep anyone from trying. This board is here primarily so we can enjoy SW in all it's forms. It doesn't have to be stellar to be appreciated. It doesn't have to be novel-length to be enjoyed. If you have a desire to write a story you have in your mind that just won't go away...write. If you keep thinking, "No one has ever written a story about ... that" Then write it yourself. Look, writing is simply putting ideas to paper, or in this case, the computer screen. It doesn't have to be worthy of an Oscar, and believe me, there were some of my stories that started out clunky and in serious need of re-writes before they were some of the 'Legends' that you all speak so highly of. Always Follow The Directions, if I remember correctly, was more of a means for Min and I to try to one-up each other, to see who could come up with the craziest idea of how to create a fun SW story. I still have the originals on my computer, and there are times when I go back and think, "Oooooh, that needs some serious reworking to make it better." Toobin' or what is now known as Shenandoah Surprise, was edited several times before I felt it was worthy of being called finished. Even now, I find tiny errors that need fixing, and it's been several years since I finished it the last time.
So if anyone is scared that their attempts won't be on par with folks like myself, Minimizer, SciDram, or others like us 'Legends' (I still cringe at being considered that, but so be it)...remember that we 'Legends' were one day just as clunky and in need of re-writes, and having someone read it and suggest that we make changes to make things better. It takes practice, but the first thing it takes...is taking a risk and just doing it. If I learned anything from the days of the old SW Forums...we're here to appreciate YOUR attempts at creating SW stories and we appreciate your attempts no matter what.

I redraw 100 times more pleasure from an original exciting plot that may have a few literary flaws, than a super well catered text that brings nothing new !!!MarauderTDL wrote: ↑Tue Apr 29, 2025 1:29 amGoing back to the original premise of this string...

Re: Who else dares to write ???
One I wrote years ago but not sure it's any good.....
When Cassie was asked to a fancy dress party she thought I know I will go as my favourite Disney character Alice.
That day she went to a local store to find the props she needed, when a small shop she had never seen before caught her eye. The store was called Bits and Bobs costume props. She thought to herself this was perfect hopefully they have something I can use.
As she she looked around the store a shop assistant appeared from nowhere it seemed and asked "Can I help you?" Cassie jumped startled by the sudden appearance of this short woman before her, "I was looking to see if you had anything that could go with an Alice in Wonderland costume?" Cassie replied once getting over her inital shock.
"Ah I know just the thing" the assistant replied as she walked towards the shelf behind the counter. After looking through the shelves she found what she was looking for, she returned with an ornate blue Drink me bottle, "wow its just like the one in the film" Cassie exclaimed with an air of excitement as it could not be more perfect.
The shop assistant said "its very authentic she said with wink, its $25 as a special today" Cassie shrugged off the strange wink but couldnt believe her luck so she paid the assistant and set off back home.
Once home Cassie put on her Alice costume and picked up the drink me bottle when she looked closer at the label it said 100% authentic, which made her recall the strange wink the assistant gave her earlier, she shook her head and said "no surely not" but her curiousity got the better of her so she decided to drink some of the liquid, she took a big gulp and set the bottle back on the table.
"Oh suddenly I dont feel so good" she said as she slumped against the table and sat on it as her legs became very weak, suddenly the world seemed as though she was being drawn downwards she closed her eyes thinking the substance was playing tricks on her, she opened her eyes again to realise the room and everything around her was so much larger than before.
She got to her feet and walked over to lean on the bottle to judge just how small she became. She was barely 6 inches if that from what she could make out.
"Well I guess it really was 100% authentic" she sighed.......

I have a story I've been working on in the works. An inventor tries her hand at recreating a device from media that everyone ridiculed that wasn't possible. Determined to prove them wrong, however an accident results in her shrunken and in someone else's apartment. Still figuring out where to write it in the main stories or the vsw section on this site as it will be quite erotic. Well, wish me luck as this will be my first attempt at such a thing.

Re: Who else dares to write ???
I've done a little bit of writing in terms of RP, and while one was reasonably successful several others alienated the little ladies. I think I'm a fair writer, but for several just couldn't come up with anything that they found interesting. It's also possible I might have tried to delve into too much detail. As far as I can tell, everybody's different, and what one little lady likes another little lady finds off-putting. I think it's just hard to be certain how much a little lady wants to be manhandled. Anybody else have any experiences like that, or am I off base here?
Be seeing you.

I have a B-side story finished and have a general idea on what is next for Shrink to Fit in terms of wrapping it up(we're in act two) in terms of the third act.
The plan is to upload the first chapter of the other story soon.

I have written many stories for myself, but this is the first time I’m sharing my shrinking stories to the masses (well I have posted a fanfic with SM once) I love writing and want to share my stories. But not gonna lie, I’m a little scared and nervous. Putting something forth you’re proud of is scary in general because you want the community to like it as much as you do. And engagement is such a good motivation tool to continue. But I’m slowly trying to teach myself, even if I get no engagement, I still love what I wrote and that’s all that matters.
That was cheesy wow.
