I don't know why but i ended up having this idea that revolved around the concept of Obsession but with elements of the miniature housewife, psycho, and a role reversed Misery.
I think I thought about this when my coworkers wouldn't shut up about the movie and it's premise, with my boss calling the main guy a retard and creep for his desire. Something came to mind that could've made things much more darker but less for the guy and more for the girl. Like, instead of wishing for her to be "in love" with him, he phrased his wish wrong and wished for her to be "in the palm of his hands." Imagine if she did appear "in his hands" or even small enough to fit. Clothes or no clothes would vary but that is only a small point as the guy would realize the power he had over her now. His "Obsession" and sense of control over her and how she would have to listen to him from now on.
The whole story would be less monkey's paw and more of a introverted creep living out his sick fantasies on someone who rejected him. I would imagine her trying to hide out and escape and each attempt would bring out the ugliness from the guy as he let's this possessive side come out as he tries tricking her so he can catch her like leaving his phone out or using a dummy phone, or frantically tossing the room apart while smashing things up to scare her into revealing where she is, or even more stuff to get her to come out. She would.try and fight back but the struggle becomes a deadly game of cat and mouse with her uncertainty of ever getting her old life back; all while Mr creep has to keep up the charade that he doesn't know about the girl's disappearance despite being marked as a character of interest by the police and even his inner circle of friends who knew he had a thing for her.
Yeah, given the material and limitations of imagination, I'd like to think this could've been an interesting thriller and suspense story.
Who else dares to write ???
