There’s a brief sw scene at the beginning of Full Moon’s Zarkorr! The Invader as well. Pretty sure Charles Band was just trying to get the most out of his giant sets lol.

I love that movie and Melissa is so hot in it but they really cheaped out on effects in it. I don't think there were any green screen scenes or anything. It was all oversize props and sets. And there was one very brief handheld scene that was a wide shot of Tracy Scoggins taking the little people out of the briefcase.

Another interesting thing about that movie is that it actually wasn't Ginger that was left shrunk at the end of Bad Channels, it was one of the other girls. They changed it to Ginger for some reason.

I don't mind at all that "GInger" (Melissa) got the part. She makes a really believable SW. I also don't consider it "cheap" to use legitimate giant props. I know that means less "interaction" with the giant per se, but it's still again very authentic to me.

From what I recall, the character left shrunk at the end of Bad Channels was purposely annoying. So, the fact that she was still tiny at the end was kind of that last "yuk yuk" joke of the movie.

But they probably figured Ginger (Behr) would do a better job carrying a full movie.

As much as I loved Nurse Ginger, I'd have enjoyed an alternate version with Cookie as the last SW.

Actually, there was something that felt not very authentic in that movie to me. You have a hot SW like Ginger, living all alone there in that house and nobody tries to take her or anything? Like that reporter would just stay at the window talking to her and not try to go inside?

I just felt that Ginger really wouldn't be that safe stuck on a counter like that and being all alone.

This movie's an hour long and most of it is three other movies (and the stuff from the *new* movie is the worst). But it has a shrunken woman wearing a bikini, so there's that.

I disagree. The use of practical effects with giant props is what makes the movie still watchable today. Does the scene with the spider look remotely realistic now? Ginger's reveal, with the slow pan around her kitchen to the open drawer, still gets me going. The kitchen footage is the whole reason why I bought the 3 DVD set.

Do you have to watch Demonic Toys and Demonic Toys 2 before you watch Bad Channels and Dollman Vs. Demonic Toys?

My favorite shrinkee from these movies was Cookie, the waitress from Bad Channel, and the first girl to be shrunk. She also comes the closest to interacting with the normal sized world, when the alien extends his hand toward her. The actress does a pretty good job recoiling in fear.

I imagine they switched up the final shrinkee standing role for Dollman v Demonic Toys because its likely the producers thought Melissa Behr could carry the bigger part. Plus, Bunny had a boyfriend in Bad Channels, while Nurse Ginger was single.

You don't have to watch anything before you watch Dollman vs. Demonic Toys, not even Bad Channels. About one third of the total runtime of Dollman vs. Demonic Toys are flashback synopses of Dollman, Bad Channels, and Demonic Toys, using actual footage from those movies. With its 64-minute run time, and considering there are opening & closing credits, Dollman vs. Demonic Toys maybe only has about 40 minutes of original content.

Granted, the scenes of Nurse Ginger (who isn't even the character who remains shrunk at the end of Bad Channels because who needs continuity?) on the countertop are CLASSIC, but all the other SW content is kind of lame. You can see all those on YouTube, where the user foreverlurk has an extensive playlist of SW clips.

However, if you're going to be a completionist, then Dollman vs. Demonic Toys and Bad Channels would need to be seen. And of the two, Bad Channels isn't really worth much because the shrunken women are confined to glass tubes with no effort being made showing them with normal-sized objects or people. Dollman vs. Demonic Toys at least attempts that, and the oversized counter set is wonderful.

I've been watching foreverlurk's YouTube videos, roughly one per night, since June. I watched a long clip from Dollman Vs. Demonic Toys, including "flashbacks" to clips from Bad Channels, last night. I guess watching the entire movies isn't a top priority now, but I still want to add them to my collection eventually. (I'm a strong believer in "physical media", even though my sister isn't. Plus the Blu-rays have audio commentaries and other bonus features.)

(Unrelated to this, while searching for these movies on eBay, I was surprised at how many "evil doll" movies came up in my searches, including Doll Graveyard, Dangerous Worry Dolls, Curse of the Witch's Doll, The Creepy Doll, Dead Doll, and others. Plus the more well-known ones like the "Annabelle" franchise.)

I like horror movies in general. Though I'm going to have to limit my eBay purchases to future Christmas/birthday presents for my three nephews and my niece, and food for myself, for now, while my sister is monitoring my eBay purchases like a hawk. ("Why do you need a Spectrum remote control?")
