At the next gaming session there was an air of tension as things began. Not one of discomfort. But perhaps one of impatience. The guys and Kathleen were all looking forward to the first opportunity to being able to pick up Kathleen again.

It made for interesting gameplay. Kathleen and the guys couldn’t get so distracted that they did something stupid like get their characters killed off. And, as the gamemaster, James had to be careful not to kill any of the characters off.

Of course, neither Kathleen nor the guys would openly admit, even to themselves, that the focus of their gaming sessions had shifted from playing a campaign to looking for opportunities to handle a shrunken Kathleen.

It did make for a notably different g@me style, though, with the gamers being a little more cautious and the gamemaster being a little more forgiving.

Finally, the opportunity for Kathleen to ask for an aerial view presented itself. Kathleen asked Henry to lift her above the fray. When Henry presented his open palm, Kathleen asked him to wrap his fingers around her body instead, as it provided more stability.

Chapter 12

Things between Kathleen and the guys might not have progressed beyond where they were now if it weren’t for Buford Williamson.

Buford was a huge (as in 300+ lbs.) offensive lineman for the local high school football team. He was only the second student in the school’s history to make All-American. And he had already signed to play at a top rated Atlantic Coast Conference college.

Like Kathleen, Buford was going to be a senior in the upcoming school year. And Buford was offensive, both on the field and off.

Buford had had a crush on Kathleen for the longest time. Kathleen had politely rebuffed Buford’s many advances. Buford’s elevation to All American, however, made him decide that he didn’t need to take “No” as an answer anymore. Buford had also decided he was going to be the one to pop Kathleen’s cherry.

It was on a Saturday afternoon that Kathleen had decided to take both her mother and James’ mother out for shopping and lunch. James’ mother and Kathleen’s mother took an instant liking to each other. The trio were discussing a dress shop they had visited before lunch when Buford came over to the table. Buford had seen Kathleen and the two middle-aged women go into the cafe and decided to wait outside. He wanted to tell Kathleen about a party that night that Buford was going to take her to.

That Kathleen might decline his offer never occurred to Buford.

After twenty minutes, Buford got tired of waiting. The large teen barged past the maître d' and headed straight to Kathleen’s table. At the sight of the oversized teen, Kathleen’s face took on its usual stoic countenance.

Buford was undeterred. He interrupted the table’s conversation, announcing the tine and place the party was being held and only asking what time he should pick up Kathleen.

Kathleen thanked Buford for the invitation before politely declining it.

Buford wasn’t taking “No” for an answer. James’ mother suggested that perhaps Buford should leave. Buford said something impolite and looked like he was going to put his hands on James’ mother.

And, as Kathleen’s classmates had observed, her fighting prowess had gone up a few notches.

Undoubtedly Kathleen’s interaction with her jade tiger pendant has left its mark.

Buford’s life was about to go into decline. Rising football star he might be, but he had been about to assault someone sitting at the same table as Kathleen’s mother, a prominent member of the local legal community. The whole episode had been captured on three different phones and made the social media rounds. The near universal reaction (locally, at least) was that the increasingly obnoxious Buford had gotten his proper comeuppance.

Kathleen maintained a silent facade until she and the two mothers were alone in the car. Then she broke down into tears, incoherently begging for forgiveness. The two mothers hugged the warrior teen, assuring her that she had done nothing wrong, and they loved her and were proud of her.

As Kathleen was being consoled, the story of her victory over Buford was making the rounds among the students at high school. Not a few of the male athletes at the high school made the unconscious decision to never “force the issue” with Kathleen.

At the next gaming session, Kathleen showed up wearing a T-shirt that read DRUIDS DO IT IN THE WOODS. As was customary, her and James’s mother exchanged hugs, though this one might have been tighter and lasted longer than normal.

Kathleen headed downstairs, where the guys had already gathered.

Things immediately got tense and quiet. Kathleen tried to ignore it, instead focusing on getting her own gaming area ready. After a few minutes, though, she had had enough. She took a deep breath, squared her shoulders and talked to the guys.

“Okay, I know you guys have heard about my confrontation with Buford Williamson.” The other gamers were focused on Kathleen. “I’m sorry that happened, but I’m not going to apologize for it. James’s mother means the world to me. But all of you guys do. I wouldn’t let anyone hurt you.”

Kathleen took a shaky breath before continuing. “You guys are my friends and I want to keep doing stuff with you. All the stuff.” Kathleen gestured at the top of the gaming table. “That includes…well, you know, running around down there, and you guys see more than I show anybody else. And touching me, and we’re all pretending that you’re not touching me that way.” Kathleen was beet red as she concluded, “I don’t want any of that to stop, and I hope you don’t either.”

This time the four young men nodded enthusiastically.

“Okay,” Kathleen continued. “But we have to have some ground rules. First, we save all the picking up and touching until after the gaming session. And only if we have a good session.”

Kathleen didn’t know it, but that one condition has ingrained itself in James’s subconscious. None of the adventuring party was going to be in any real danger of dying again.

Kathleen’s character Katja racked up enough experience points that gaming session to let her level up.

Not that anyone was complaining.

Kathleen had found her movements more flowing (for lack of a better word) since she had made her first transfer into the miniature, both in real life and in miniaturized form. But today she was operating at a whole new level. When she leaped and swung her sword at the clay figures that James put down for her to battle, her sword didn’t just bite deeply into the clay figures. Today Kathleen was decapitating the clay monsters and cutting them in half.

The guys might have been intimidated if Kathleen hadn’t been doing all this while in the nude.

It wasn’t just seeing Kathleen’s incredible body that was turning the guys on. It was the knowledge they were the first and only guys to see Kathleen nude that added to the enjoyment. Plus the knowledge they’d be handling Kathleen’s tiny body shortly.
