Heretic looks like a great horror/suspense film. Trailer three doesn't look like there is any SW though, looks like the early images were more symbolic like others have said.

Miniature Wife starts filming this January and I'm very optimistic about it. Elizabeth Banks sells everything she's in and I think she's going to be adorable. I look forward to a show because it will allow us to see a more impartial view of everything that is happening. I wonder if it's going to start with her being tiny with flashbacks or if we'll start from scratch.

An important thing to remember about the story is that it is all from the man's point of view and he's very clearly unreliable, and she is possibly less 'self sabotaging' and more 'justifiably angry' at being reduced to what sounds like being her husband's pet.

I really like talking shrinking with my wife is who is not at all into this and finds the fantasy scary, which honestly makes for fun conversations because she has a lot of perspective we don't get here because, well, everyone here is into this stuff. Miniature Wife features a character who is NOT into it. Can't wait.

Anyway, Heretic was always a stretch, but I was cautiously curious. Good thing this genre of movie speaks to me so I'm coming out ahead anyway.

Yes, I reckon her actions (what we know of them anyway) are due to being resentful and angry, and understandable. I can think of nothing worse than being anyone's shrunken 'pet'. Apart from dying of course.

So what was the possible SW scenario here that got everyone excited?

Was it that going through those doors is going to have some "alien geometries" effect and the sisters are going to end inside the miniature labyrinth?

If so, hope may not yet be lost, as the third trailer's last scene could mean that is the case (tho it's a stretch), with the wood creaking noises that sound like the whole place is creaking (which could indicate they are in a tiny miniature that is being affected by the big world outside) and the villain saying "have you figured it out yet?", which might mean the girls are about to realize they are inside the miniature

Not sure I've seen any updates about this film around the sizey community. But apparently there is no size content in it at all, the stuff in the trailer was just an artistic editing choice.

Well this sucks. I mean, the film sounds interesting, but it'd have been much more creative for Hugh Grant's mansion to have such an "alien geometries" angle or shrinking aspect. It'd only have added to the film. But nooo.....

I suppose you can't blame some folks on here for grasping at straws, thinking main stream movies are going to fulfill their own shrunken woman fantasies.

Maybe one day who knows. But I'd not be losing sleep about it.

What I said was asking what was the theory for the size diff. What makes the girls tiny.

Well I suspected it wouldn't involve actual shrinking of the two girls, so at least you've had that confirmed and won't be getting your hopes raised.

Should still be worth seeing though, with maybe some clever effects to suggest the women are feeling smaller, even if they aren't.

Like you, I'll be waiting to see it on the telly or whenever it's out on DVD.

The artistic shot of the girl climbing up a ladder and coming up inside the wooden miniature of the house is in the movie, but it's just an artistic shot, and then the camera pans to the door in the room and the girl just comes out in the normal environment. There's no size themes at all in the movie.

That artistic shot is still pretty good and I like the concept so much of having a tiny girl running around in my maze

well, it's like most movies nowadays, the set up is interesting, but the pay off is meh

the movie was mid... also, it mentions jew victimization as a plot point which I don't think most people want to hear about considering the genocide.. it was also jarring bcs those points were total bs by both the girl and the Hugh Grant character

e.g. the girl says "there are more christians than jews not because christians advertise more, but because the holocaust killed so many jews and they were persecuted in the past" but that's bs because even if the 6 million hadn't been killed, that's a literal one thousandth order of magnitude of the 2.63 BILLION christians today... statistically, the suggestion here of catching up to THREE orders of magnitude in a couple generations is ridiculous.. also, christians were persecuted in the past too and even more as targeted for extermination, "being thrown to the lions" is a common saying ffs

I just f-ng rolled my eyes at that bit of propagandizing and I literally never want to hear about them again after the genocide they've done

anyway, regardless of that, like I said, the movie is mid at best.. the more I think about it the lower my score goes tho
