Except you don't actually create imagery from scratch by using your imagination and physical skill (whether it's by drawing, rendering, or even a Photoshop collage), you text prompt an AI program to do it instead.
Yes it's a kind of art if we have to use that term, and it requires some mental dexterity to get the results you're wanting, but the problem you're going to find is..
Everyone and his dog is going to be able to do the same!
In fact they can now from the repetitive results we keep seeing (it's becoming like you've seen one, and you've seen 'em all kind of scenario).
But if that makes folks happy then fair enough. But I foresee it becoming so commonplace and easy to achieve, then any kudos for it will be meaningless.
You're right! I agree! And that's why I don't call myself artist, I don't try to create the impression that what I do is difficult, and I also don't expect anyone to praise me for what I've done, because it's really no big deal.
Still, the main point is to makes people happy somehow and I believe the art isn't the only way to achieve that, but the realism of the experience can be pretty good as well. It looks like AI will provide us with ultra realistic SW stuff, and it won't be art for sure, but will it make me happy? Sure.
I agree it's quite repetitive now, but if I can produce it using a less than 1000 USD PC, I think it's fair enough. As a product, ok? Not art, but just an product you can buy or get it free, and use somehow. Sounds fair.
Yes indeed it sounds very fair, and I acknowledge AI to be a godsend for users lacking (or unwilling to acquire) the skills to create their own imagery. And I don't single you out as being at fault for doing that, it's just the way the world is going.
So at the risk of repeating myself from what I've said elsewhere, I can foresee a time when it'll be a case of just "thinking" what we'd like to see, and hey presto we'll get it! The technology seems so boundless, I don't think we've seen anything yet.
As for me, I'm just not that invested enough in this fetish to want to chase that kind of thing, and I'm more than happy to create my own imagery, as and when I feel the need to (which isn't exclusively shrinking related).
Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy what you're doing and post more of your opinions. You have a refreshingly intelligent approach to discussing things.
