Ways To Shrink

I’m working on a new story and it involves shrinking ladies in multiple different ways.

So like to reach out, what are some your favorite ways to shrink a lady?

Since shrinking is impossible in reality, who needs reality in shrinking them?

Magic used intentionally or accidently.

Telepathic shrinking ability

Shrink Ray, tried and true.

Shrink Gas, good to shrink a group of ladies at one time.

Shrinking liquid, given intentionally or drank accidently

Shrink Virus, naturally occurring or manmade

Radiation exposure, manmade or naturally occurring

I'm not a great writer, but a story I've thought of involves several women who rent a very secluded beach house. One of them inexplicably shrinks. The others are scared but the bitch of the group takes advantage of the tiny woman's dilemma, until she shrinks. One by one, they all shrink to doll size, until there is only one normal sized woman left.........where does the story go from here? She finally shrinks and the culprit behind the shrinking is revealed, or she doesn't shrink and now she has a collection of doll sized girls to play with or to care for.......

I guess a prefer a potion of some kind as the effects result in shrinking out of clothes. Same goes for a gel, or powder that gets absorbed into the skin.

Magic spells are fun too.

Here's an idea, a failed teleportation. A woman tries to teleport somewhere, but the devices don't match up, and when she reaches the destination, she's smaller.

I like the failed teleportation and virus ideas too. The ordeal, and how to live life like that would be fun.

Another idea is the mind-thief. Someone clones or brews up a small meak body, and then remotely steals someone's body, and places it in the clone. As far as anyone else knows, the person has just died. But they are really being held captive, vulnerable and with no way ever to be restored. Even if they managed to escape, they would never be accepted as who they once were.

I would caution you to think this over very, very carefully before you commit a lot of time and effort to a project like this. It's the sort of idea that may sound really, really good at first (especially if you're high, trust me I know). But when you really try to put a gimmick like this into a story, you wind up with number of problems.

You seem to be building a story around the gimmick. Speaking from firsthand experience, that is probably going to suck. First, you need a good story to tell then worry about how you're going to handle size change.

If you create a world with shrink rays, shrinking rings, shrinking chairs, shrinking potions and shrinking remotes you're going to create a world that not only makes no sense but where shrinking is just a pretty ordinary thing.

My advice is pick one that YOU like and stick with it. If you try to please everyone, you will please no one. If you like shrinking out of clothes, do it. If you like shrinking in clothes fine. Slow, fast or instantaneous; great. Whichever way it is your world needs to work and if you have to go on and on explaining all these unrelated mechanics people will get bored. Just use Lisa, the genie from "Weird Science" and call it done.

If you're a photographer, you can use Shrink Ray technology and put it in your camera. Then you schedule some photoshoots with some models. Snap, snap, you got a tiny super model in your hands just like that
