Tired of the rat race, I found a house out in the country for a bargain. After checking it out and finding no issues with the plumbing, roof, electric or anything else, I bought it and moved in. Almost immediately, I found things disappeared, bits of food, safety pins, a handkerchief, and other odds and ends. I just assumed I had mice so I set up some traps.
I went into town for provisions and the store clerk asked me if I was the one who bought the house. I said yes and he asked if I noticed anything weird going on. I told him no and he said the former owners thought the house was haunted with things being moved and other things disappearing. I just laughed, paid for my stuff and went home. That night, I heard something in the kitchen. I quietly crept from my bedroom and when I peeked into the kitchen, I saw a tiny thing running across the floor. It looked like a 5 inch tall ghost !!!!!
From that night on, I started leaving things on the counter: Bits of food, pieces of cloth, a spool of thread and sewing needle, a variety of things that I had noticed disappearing. Each morning the object was gone, but now something was left in its place. Often a babble of no value, sometimes an old coin. I bought a trail camera and set it up aiming at the counter. When I checked the memory the next morning, the tiny ghost was clearly seen taking my "gift" and leaving something behind. The next night, I left a piece of chocolate and a tiny piece of paper on which I wrote "I won't harm you. I want to meet you".
When I checked the memory the next morning, I saw the ghost appear again. It put the piece of chocolate in a small bag, leaving a coin on the counter in its place, then picked up and read the note. It turned towards the trail camera, took hold of the edges of its hood and peeled it back off its head. It slowly raised its head and looked directly at the camera......this was no ghost, but a tiny girl....a tiny pretty girl !!! She smiled, then picked up her bag and ran off.
The next night, I left a small piece of lunch meat and a piece of cheese on the counter, but I didn't turn on the trail cam. I sat in a chair on the far side of the kitchen table and waited in the dark to see if my new friend was going to appear..........
