I actually found out about this movie while watching "The Food That Built America" on the History Channel, the episode about peanut butter. The first brand of peanut butter that went on the market didn't have a very appealing name. (Though I can't remember what it was.) To make the product more appealing to children, it was decided to change the name to Peter Pan peanut butter, partly because of a recent movie adaptation. Clips from the movie were shown, including one of Tinker Bell. Just like the Mary Martin version, Peter Pan is played by a woman.
The entire movie is readily available on YouTube, including a (ugh) colorized version. I haven't watched any of them to see what the quality is like, or if any of them have a music score added.
