Thinking about a Collaborative SW Worldbuilding Project...

Howdy, guys and gals and ghosts and ghouls and everyone else in between~!

Tis I, the inconsistent one who lurks among you, Flippity/Nanogirl/whoever you believe me to be! Having ideas galore but taking forever and a day to finish them. One day, I will be on top of it.

In the meantime, I just want to float around an idea that's been in my head for years, but suddenly, the inspiration is hitting me harder than before, so I kinda just want to share it, gage interest, receive pointers, critiques, ask about feasibility, etc.

In short, I'm thinking about doing 2 things:

1. Creating a visual novel based on this worldbuilding project I have in mind and

2. Talking more about making a primarily SW community worldbuilding project for art, stories, worldbuilding, etc. It'd be primarily grounded, but explore a lot of themes that would bring about ideological questions and conversations.

So, to get to the meat and potatoes:

This is basically an alternate-earth storyline that takes place in 2037 AD in which 53 years ago on Sep. 27. 1984, a tenth of humanity is simultaneously shrunk down to about 2-3 inches tall (primarily operating on a 1/24 scale). After a lot of chaos, the world begins to rebuild but a lot of those who have lost their height (The Diminished, or Dimis for short) have to now learn to live in a world that's too big for them. In the initial years, they had lost a ton of rights and were treated like dirt as you'd expect by society and government, before slowly gaining back rights over the course of decades, societal and cultural infrastructure slowly incorporating them back into power.

Nowadays, Dimis and normal-sized people (usually called (although sometimes pejoratively "Normies," or "the Bigs") live together "harmoniously."

Essentially, despite regaining a lot of their lost rights and laws being implemented in favor of protecting them and incorporating them into society, as you'd expect, they face monumental challenges such as the fact that the laws aren't often enforced and many "missing" person cases or casualties can be dismissed (i.e. Is it accidental manslaughter if you happen to get squished if you're 3 inches tall, drunk, and happen to trip under a shoe? Why look for a person who's as small as a doll? etc.), equal representation in governance (I mean, can you even reach the mic, shorty?), social stigma (how can a Dimi survive the midnight tango if you can shove them up your a-), and all that stuff.

Also, things such as how different generations view their plight (if younger ones see it as much as a plight as the older or more or even see it at all), how some choose to integrate or how some live in completely segregated zones for their safety (i.e. Diminished Autonomous Zones, DAZ for short), different departments (i.e. police (Diminished Protection Bureaus), hospitals, DS (Diminished Specialized) schools, etc. (I'm tossing all these acronyms but I have a more fleshed out thing on it in my docs), how relationships work and things of the like.

The story primarily takes place I'm calling Larimar City, which is a municipal city located somewhere near the east coast of the USA. It's a big city about the size of San Jose and is known as one of the most integrated cities where Dimis and Normies live together. It houses not only a large Dimi population, but also has a stadium-sized domed "city" where about half of the Dimi residents live in, while others live outside of it in shared buildings or safety-approved housing units specifically made for them (so they say, I did say it's unequal AF).

Once I'm done the touches on my docs which has the descriptions written less informally than I put it, I'll link it to this post. I also plan to float this on Discord, DeviantArt, Reddit, etc.

Any thoughts? Advice? Info I should focus on?
