I like Fay Wray in the original Kong too, but for me, nothing beats 1976 Kong with Jessica Lange. 9 year old me thought she was so pretty and the handhelds and interaction effects in that movie really got to me. Maybe because I saw the 1976 version before I ever saw the original, I dunno.

Yes I agree, I think the '76 was really good in its own right. It had a different take on the original film and Peter Jackson's remake, and Jessica Lange was terrific. The only thing that bothered me slightly was the size they made Kong, meaning his hands were just a tad too big for my own tastes (which meant his fingers almost completely enclosed Dwan, so there was less of her on view). But that's just me seeing things as a collage artist, where I tend portray the woman as being at Barbie size scale. The original had his size about right for me, though the effects were a bit primitive by today's standards.

I was at Hooters the other day and our waitress a cute brunette sits down at our table and starts chatting with my friends and I. Somehow we got on to the topic of our favorite movies and I jokingly said King Kong is one of my favorites. She said wow I've never heard that before that's interesting. I asked her if she had ever seen the original King Kong and she said no but she has seen Godzilla vrs Kong Kong Skull Island and the one with Jack Black. I told her she should see the original King Kong and she said she would have to watch it because she likes giant monster movies. I thought it was great that I was actually talking King Kong with this girl and she actually seemed interested in the movie. Then she laughed and said jokingly can you imagine if King Kong came here he'd probably grab a bunch of us girls and pick us up....that got me thinking I'd like to write a King Kong story where Kong is on the lose in a city and grabs a couple of Hooters girls. I would like to have her be one of the girls in the story. Would anyone be interested in this type of story?
