I'm still not a fan. I know, your only using it as a tool. But when does that go from tool to entire project? When does it go from curious fun to crowding out personal creations? Why should someone bother to put effort into their art if people are going to accept what algorithms pump out with just a few inputted suggestions? Machines should be for making our lives easier so human's can create the art, this just seems to be the reverse.
What you fear is something we have always had to deal with. You are describing what Hollywood and he mass media usually are. Films, TV shows, and music go through so much executive planning, and bureaucratic algorithms that all personal investment is lost and creators end up feeling and acting like machines.
Gutenberg's press put all the scribes and monks out of business. But people today still practice calligraphy simply because they love the art and want to see what they can do with it. No reasonable person oil paints to make a living. People do art because they love it.
The new AI tools might save Hollywood some money, but they aren't going to fundamentally change what they do. But those tools DO fundamentally change what personal creators can do. Tools like AI and the internet let people entertain each other without need for big corporations controlling the message and taking all the profit. That is the real reason so many fear it.
Nations that fear and outlaw AI are simply going to be left behind by those places that embrace it. This happened to the muslim world in the 14th century. They had the most advanced technologies and progressive societies. And then they just sort of... stopped. And the formerly stagnant west passed them by. The future is for those who embrace change.
I have no intention of giving up Photoshop.
You should. Adobe is evil. Try the Gimp, Pixelmator, or Affinity Photo.
