What’s the best way to get feedback here on stories?
I just posted my first story here “Maya’s Downfall”. How can I get people to read it and tell me what they think?
The first part of the story was just more of an outline that I wrote part of and then used Novelcraft to help edit, but if people like the idea then I’ll clean it up. I actually have rough drafts for 75% of the story.
The reason I ask is I don’t want to waste my time if it’s not any good, but it seems like nobody writes for this genre anymore. I’m not trying to make any money or anything, but I want to contribute if people like what I wrote. Anyway, sorry if this looks like spam. I just want to get some honest feedback!

Unfortunately, not many visitors to your threads leave any comments. Most of the readers/viewers aren't even registered, merely guests. If you look at the bottom left corner, you see the "Who is online" following by names and number of guests. Some of those are bots, but I would say most are actual persons.
I read your story. It's pretty good. You have an easy to follow writing style and the concept behind the story is interesting.

Thanks! Is there anything you’d like to see in it that would make it more interesting? Any ideas you have I might be able to add.DocRick wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 5:21 pmUnfortunately, not many visitors to your threads leave any comments. Just keep writing as you feel. Your biggest critic is always you. Please yourself first.

To attract readers and make your stories stand out, it helps if yoou add a title image like in a book cover or any other kind of artwork.
It helps the reader to imagine what the story is about.

DA has losts of artists who offer commissions.
Practical if you want to make besides a cover also a comic page with the story's key shrinking scene.
Here are some I can recommend:

I usually turn off my critical brain and just enjoy the flow, unless the grammar is off by a large margin... Or the story goes completely off the rails. But I don't want to critique anyone because it might turn them off for writing more. That's never the intended effect and yet somehow it can turn out like that...
I read the first chapter of yours some time ago and it was alright. I have my usual complaints - that I keep to myself - about the lack of tags. They are a life saver when it comes to searching for stories that I like and don't want to waste my time with the ones I don't. Something like (hidden behind a spoiler) contains this, this and that would be amazing before each chapter.

Have you read mine yet? I feel like I make sure to take care of you’re concerns, but I could be wrong.Miri wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 8:24 amI usually turn off my critical brain and just enjoy the flow, unless the grammar is off by a large margin... When you start the post, just write that in the very first sentence
Guys, I would love to have some feedback on the following story, to see of is worthy to continue... MAGIC WORDS - Continue - So everyone that likes the first chapters will immediately prompt you to continue... THIRSTY LITTLE PERVS WE ARE ALL - LOLLLLLLLLLLLL
I love many stories here but since I copy-paste them into an (text to voice) App, the time I start hearing the stories, I either don´t like and delete or love them and finish, but since I´m already away from the computer, I wont be leaning into searching for it again and comment... Witch is really bad cause some stories deserve to be praised to the 4 corners of the Earth and artists recognized - MY BAD !!!

Re: What’s the best way to get feedback here on stories?
I suppose it's just your audience. I joined one of those Photoshop Facebook groups and whenever I come across a request that my imagination can convert to SW, I make it and post it. Surprisingly, I get feedback on most of them, all positive. I've rec'd more feedback in two days from that group than two years on this forum.
Here's a couple of the images that got a lot of positive feedback, the first two from the actual person.
