Thrilled and relieved, the six girls drove to the B&B and two hours later checked in. The owner, an older lady who introduced herself as Mabel, escorted the girls to the guest house. As the girls entered the house and looked around, they were astonished.
"It looks like a doll house", Jennifer said.
"Yes", replied Mabel. "My husband designed and built it himself. He wanted something for our children to remember their childhoods when they come home to visit. He was a professor at the University teaching microbiolphysiology. Now, I'll leave you girls alone. If you need anything, I'll be in the main house."
The girls unpacked, ate a light lunch, put on their bikinis and took off to spend the day on the beach. They returned at nightfall, exhausted and fell quickly asleep.
Samantha woke up first. She had always been an early riser and even with only a few hours sleep, she couldn't sleep past 6 a.m. She got out of bed and threw on some jeans and a polo. Not wanting to wake up the other girls, she decided to go sit outside for a while. Quietly making her way through the house, she got to the front door, but it wouldn't open. She tried the back door, but it wouldn't open either. She tried to look out the windows, but the glass was very wavy, and she could only see a very distorted blur.
The ceiling suddenly lifted. Samantha looked up to see instead of the sky, another ceiling way above her. Then Mabel's face appeared above her. It looked like Mabel, but the face was the size of Misny on one of his stupid billboard advertisements. A giant hand with a tiny coffee pot descended into the kitchen. As her coffee cup was filled, Mabel smiled down on her and sweetly said:
"Good morning. As you can see, the guest house wasn't designed to look like a dollhouse, but it actually is a dollhouse, enlarged and now reduced to its original size, you girls along with it. Now, drink your coffee then get the other girls up. Your new owners will be here in an hour and you wouldn't want to make a bad initial impression on them, would you?"
