I vaguely remember not liking these characters at all. She'd keep making irritating jokes about how lazy he was, and then when a crime happened, she'd shrink while they were still in her house, so he'd have to cary her.

I liked seeing a happily married superhero couple, as opposed to that wife beater Hank Pym.

And sometimes Microwoman rode around on their dog Trouble, who usually was part of the team.

(Though I only got to watch one episode before most of my DVD's were taken away from me by one of my sisters.)

(Someone who worked on this cartoon must be a Tom and Jerry fan. The classic "Tom scream" is heard when a couch gets dropped on the cat's paws. Plus Ami and Yumi use the freon lines under the refrigerator to freeze the cat solid, similar to what happens to Tom at the end of "Mice Follies".)

Keeping this thread on topic:

The Plastic Man segment "Toyman" from The Plastic Man Comedy Adventure Hour is on the Internet Archive. I actually watched the original Saturday morning broadcast of this. But back then I didn't notice how dark the possible fate of the shrunken people was. It ranks right up there with the "Size Matters" episode of (the original) Charmed. (I also didn't notice that Hula Hula's voice was based on Lou Costello, the inflection more than the voice itself. And I had watched Abbott and Costello movies (as well as Lou Costello's only solo movie, The 30 Foot Bride of Candy Rock (which technically has SW content),) on Sundays on Tampa's WTOG 44 before then.

The episode of The Heathcliff and Dingbat Show with the segment "Health Nutz" (Dingbat and the Creeps) is on the Internet Archive. I watched the original broadcast of this too. ("You lost weight, didn't you?")

Quick group shrinking in Winx Club:

After all of the Winx Club girls earned their Enchantix over the course of Season Three, all of them except Bloom could shrink themself. (I think Bloom could finally shrink herself in the first movie, which I haven't watched yet.) But Bloom was actually the first of the Winx Club girls to shrink, during Season Two.

In a recent episode, Lisa shrinks and interacts with Malibu Stacy and the other dolls in her dollhouse after they come to life. (Reminiscent of the 1970's children's book Among the Dolls, except not as dark.)

There's also a couple of Halloween episodes (three if you count "King Homer") and at least three couch gags.

I forgot about the tall tales episode, specifically the segment with Homer as Paul Bunyan and Marge as his normal-sized wife.

Speaking of Mighty Mouse, watch the original Mighty Mouse cartoon "Hansel and Gretel". (Be sure to watch the one uploaded to YouTube by Steve Stanchfield, since it's a theatrical print that hasn't had anything cut out of it (for running time, not censorship) like the TV print.) In addition to having SW content, it has the crazy, off-model animation of Jim Tyer, including one of his "shrink takes". (Though it's a cat.)

I can't believe that no one here has mentioned the "Superstretch and Microwoman" segment from Filmation's Tarzan and the Super 7, probably because Crys isn't a member here. ("I loved that show! I was always looking for black superheroes when I was a kid, so I just about DIED when I found Microwoman. You might say that's what got me into SW.")

Filmation also gave us Mission: Magic!, which was like a psychedelic predecessor of The Magic School Bus. I think the teacher used a slide rule as the size changing device. (I've also seen her use a chalkboard eraser to erase bank robbers' getaway car. And when she turned the knob on her purse, she and her students could fly.

Mission: Magic! has been "officially" released on DVD. I bought the DVD set, but I only got to watch the first episode before it was taken away from me. I watched this episode for the first time on YouTube. ("Miss Tickle! You shrank!")



One of Filmation's early cartoons was Fantastic Voyage. It belongs to 20th Century Fox, since it was adapted from one of their properties, and has been "officially" released on DVD in the UK. The first episode:
