Rebecca Thorton, the daughter of the famed Microbiophysiologist Professor Thorton, was next in line to be assistant manager at the Hooter's restaurant where she had been working since graduating from high school and starting college. Then, a newer girl named Samantha, the daughter of the GM, got promoted ahead of Rebecca. Broken hearted, she vowed revenge. She went to visit her father at his laboratory and when no one was looking, she slipped a prototype handheld Matter Manipulator into her purse. When she got to work, Samantha yelled at her for being three minutes late. Rebecca didn't say anything but waited until Samantha went to the restroom. Rebecca followed her and shrunk her with the Matter Manupulator. Rebecca bound Samantha's wrists and ankles, then gagged her with strips of duct tape and put her in her locker.
The takeout telephone rang and Rebecca answered it to find a boy named Ennis on the other end. Ennis was Samantha's ex-boyfriend. She had broken up with him on Facebook, humiliating him in front of all their friends and all the other college students. After that, he had become depressed and isolated. He was still infatuated with her, but she wouldn't give him the time of day. Once a week, he would call in a takeout order and come in and pick it up, presumably, Rebecca thought, just to get a glance at Samantha. Rebecca got an idea.....an evil idea....a devilishly evil idea......She prepared Ennis's takeout order and when she saw him come in, she scurried to her locker and grabbed the tiny, bound Samantha and put her in her apron pocket. When she got back to the takeout order preparation area, she glanced about to make sure no one was looking and the camera had rotated away from the area and put Samantha into Ennis's salad container. She bagged up his order and handed it to him.
As Ennis walked out of the restaurant, she watched him, half self-satisfied, but slightly apprehensive. What if Ennis did the "right thing" and reported this? Rebecca and her father could get into a lot of trouble...............A week later, Rebecca hadn't heard anything. Samantha had been reported missing, but the police had no leads. She was at work when the takeout phone rang. She answered it and took Ennis's normal weekly food order. When he came in to pick it up, another waitress handed him his food. She caught him looking at her and he gave her a wink and a smile that she had not seen on his face since the breakup with Samantha. She realized at that moment, as she glanced down at the new "Assistant Manager" name tag on her shirt, that she had nothing to worry about.
