From these posts, it sounds like the series is a little disappointing.........
Eh I enjoyed it, of course it was never going to have the real raunchy content a lot of people in the size community were hoping for but at the very least at least it wasn't another Downsizing.
Of course I would have liked to see more handhold interaction or to see tiny people riding in people's pockets but I never really went into the show with high expectations and the show pretty much did what I expected it would considering it is a fairly mainstream TV show and what they would be willing to show on such shows given the societal sensibilities of this age.
i watched ahead and binged it so i can tell you that person isnt the only one.
This show has more SM than it has SW. womp womp
How so? I wasn't counting screen time so I don't have exact figures but it feels like Lindy had far more screen time than any of the other shrunken characters.
Hoping it's enjoyable. I woke up at 3am here on the east coast, hoping to catch an episode or two before having to be at work at 7. Was extremely bummed that it wasn't available until 6am, even though several online sources claimed 3am.
I was able to fast forward through the first episode to see the shrinking scene and then a little bit of the second episode, which pretty much matches, though expands upon, things shown in trailers. Really looking forward to watching more of her being tiny, but I'll save my comments for the neww discussion threads.
I'm cautiously optimistic I'll enjoy it because I believe Elizabeth Banks fully committed to this, but I'm exoecting subplots with other characters not to be as interesting. We shall see!
just finished ep 3.

So bummed about the SM joining lindy. Was hoping she would be the sole shrunken person in the show. Ow well, cant have it all I guess
Yeah agree
SpoilerShow
Doesn't really make much sense for him to shrink himself to rescue Lindy, was kind of hoping he would come find her at his regular size and try and sneak her out in his pocket or something, or at the very least he would get caught after he learns the secret and gets shrunk and disposed of
I will say that 2 episodes in, there's been plenty to like so far in terms of SW content, and the writing is pretty good. Elizabeth Banks is absolutely captivating in her physical and emotional reactions. Even knowing there's gratuitous SM on the horizon, I'm excited to see the rest
I think people are overstating it, there is only one scene with a naked SM and his body is fully covered by a prop so there is nothing to see, and he gets dressed pretty quickly.
Omg has it really been two years of waiting!? I’ve come across several reviews with major spoilers + new clips from the series. But I figured since the show aires tomorrow, not to spoil it
Yup, just over two years since the announcement. It's crazy that it's been that long and surreal that it's finally here.
can someone please upload the episodes? I'm not from the U.S so I'm not able to purchase a subscription to peacock (and I believe I'm not the only one)
Where are you? The Miniature Wife is supposed to air on Sky in the UK.
and im not complaining at the slightest. i saw interaction and i got it. even if its just a few in between.
I think it's perfectly fair to complain about the bait and switch. Nothing with SW can EVER be mainly SW. It always has to be turned on its head to the mainstream SM/GTS side, and sexy visuals are reserved to objectify men only.
Spoiler tags please! Some of us here can't watch The Miniature Wife because cable TV was taken away from them by their sister, the one who hasn't died of cancer...yet.
(And that's not all that I'm missing. I found out last week that there's a second season of the UK TV series Sanctuary: A Witch's Tale, which airs on AMC+ here in the US.)
SpoilerShow
What did they do, shrink the guy that the patent reverts to in thirty days, then threaten to step on him if he didn't surrender the patent?
For those who can't watch The Miniature Wife (like me), here's an extended version of the shrinking scene, preceded by the argument, which begins with Lindy telling Les that she's leaving him. (Do they HAVE to use the f-word so much?)
(I can now see that Lindy isn't wearing her wedding ring before she gets shrunk. So scidram was right.)

One guy shrinks himself so he can rescue Lindy from the dollhouse or so he can live with her as a shrunken person as well? Honestly his plan does not really feel all that well thought out
The other is a reporter who is snooping around for information on the research project, he gets shrunk and abducted by Vivienne to prevent him from leaking incriminating details about the project

Those of us who still can't watch the entire series would appreciate more of the scenes.

Especially the handheld scenes. I mean, seriously. I can't stand that streaming paywall BS. This is SO unfair that I can see more of TED (which I did enjoy) and less of this show. I don't wanna sign up to Peacock for this. Not even Hulu, now that Disney ate it.
Hello, little ladies. Care for a shrink, with a hand on the side?
I don't know if this has been said, but Amazon Prime members get a free trial of Peacock for a week through the Prime app. It has to be watched through Prime, not on Peacock, and the show is included in the trial. That's how I was able to see it. Hope this helps someone!

I finally signed up for the weekend & just watched 3 episodes, it's interesting so far, it's got a lot of funny moments. I'm enjoying some of the practical effects & physics completely be damned, The series kinda reminds me of War of the Roses from the way it's heading.
I'm not reading any of the spoilers until I finish the series.

I like my idea better.

Did the guy who shrinks himself to be with Lindy get eaten by the cat, flushed down the toilet, or disposed of in some other way?

Did you want me to spoil it for you? Or leave it to your imagination?
SpoilerShow
There is a scene where Lindy gets Les to come home only for her to reveal she has been sleeping with the tiny Richard as revenge, of course this does get Les mad and well, you can take a guess at what happens next right
SpoilerShow
The tiny rich is plucked out of the doll house by a very angry Les, he walks over to the kitchen counter and smears honey on Rich's face and dunks him in some bird seed and then places him in a cage with a bird, the camera cuts to black as the bird is about to attack the tiny Rich, a few scenes later we come back to see the bird house on the floor, blood dripping from the perch with the bird and Tiny Rich nowhere to be found
SpoilerShow
But a few scenes later an injured Rich comes up to the tiny Lindy and we find out he survived and killed the bird with a pen he was gifted by Janet at work, so he survives for now.
SpoilerShow
But then a few episodes later Les gets fed up with Lindy's antics and decides he is not going to unshrink her and lets an un-shrunken Mr Magoo (the cat) run free in the apartment hoping he would take care of her for him, but the tiny Rich comes in trying to save the day, they both hide under some piece of furniture but at the climax Rich gets snatched from under the piece of furniture as Lindy screams his name
SpoilerShow
But in the episode later as Rich is getting battered around by the cat Lindy manages to grab it's attention and trap it in the bird cage that is lying on the ground saving Rich from death yet again, from here Les apologises and they all team up to get the unshrinking formula and Lindy is returned to her normal size
SpoilerShow
That said even though they have the unshrinking formula we never see any scene or mention of Rich being returned to normal size, was he returned to normal size or are they leaving this vague for a potential plot in season 2? In any case I guess it wasn't the character you were hoping would remain shrunk so bad luck there fella, all those spoiler tabs and it all ends in disappointment
