Vicky had always strived to success. Becoming a cheerleader wasn't enough, she had to be the captain of the squad. Getting on Student Council wasn't enough, she had to be the president. She also was the class valedictorian and Class President. She knew she wanted to get to the top of everything she wanted and she didn't care if she stepped on some toes to get there.
Then in an accident in her microbiopysiolgy class, she was reduced to a mere five inches tall. No longer able to attend college, she had to go back to live at home. Her parents were accommodating, if not disappointed, but they bought her a nice dollhouse to live in so she could feel some semblance of "normalicy" but they also kept her as virtual prisoner, unable to leave the house without one of them and even the few friends who stopped over were strictly supervised by her parents.
During spring break Mariah, one of her best friends came over and was allowed to visit with Vicky without the parents hovering over them. Vicky broke down and told her about how miserable she was, and she so wanted to just get out for a while without her parents helicoptering over her. Mariah asked what she could do to help and Vicky said she could get her out of the house, maybe go to one of the clubs their other former classmates hang out with on breaks from college. Mariah agreed and Vicky changed into a nice dress her mother had made for her. Mariah slipped Vicky into her purse and told her parents Vicky was sleeping in the dollhouse.
At first, Vicky was enjoying herself, talking to the other former cheerleaders and student council members. The other treated her with respect and genuine compassion for her situation. But as the evening went on, other students, some of which Vicky had used and abused or offended during high school, began hanging around her. Blood alcohol levels were rising and some of the kids began to torment her, poking her with their fingers, or grabbing her and picking her up, passing her around like a new pet mouse.
Soon her dress was soiled and torn, and Mariah was engaged in a deep conversation with a boy she had a crush on during their junior year of high school. Then someone started singing the class theme song and her tormenters wandered off and left her alone, torn dress and tear-stained makeup, sitting on the bar by herself.
A voice behind her said he was sorry the others were treating her so badly. She turned and saw Byron, the class nerd sitting on the bar stool close to her. Byron had tutored Vicky and got her through Physics and even though she treated him like a he wasn't much more than a tool to get better grades, he had a major unrequited crush on her. She looked up at him and said, "Get me out of here". He looked confused and she told him to pick her up and carry out of the pub. He gingerly extended his hand towards her, gently placing it on top of the bar and she crawled onto his palm. Cupping his other hand around her, he got up and walked out of the pub without being noticed by anyone else, as if he had ever been noticed by any of his classmates before, except maybe for the jocks who tormented him and the girls who had no interest in socializing with a nerd.
Byron carried Vicky to his Prius and climbed inside. She was still sitting in his palm, fluctuating between tears and anger.
"Why me?", she cried. "I had everything and this had to happen. It's not fair. All my dreams shattered because of some stupid lab accident."
Byron fingers began to wander over to Vicky, and he began to gently pull on the hem of her dress. The already damaged seams began to split along the side, exposing more and more of her legs, then her hips......
Vicky turned and said, "What the hell do you think you are doing?"
Byron just continued pulling on her dress until the seam completely separated and he pulled the dress off of her, leaving her sitting in his palm, completely naked.
Byron smiled and said as he began pulling down his zipper, "Well, one of us should have our dream come to fruition tonight."
