I used to go to the various chat areas around the net, but most of the time when I come on, there aren't too many on, or I'm going to bed when the others come back on. The horrors of time zones and early workdays.

Ashamed to admit that I've also used AI to roleplay a few times. It's fun for a bit, until it starts forgetting details and going around in circles. Plus, it's never as satisfying as roleplaying with a person whom you share "interests" with.

I understand. Bots are like junkfood; cheap, easy, but never filling like a real meal or a real person in any way.

You don't have to be ashamed about using bots. Bots as just more available but not as surprising and unexpected as a person having independent thoughts that add on to the role play and keep things interesting.

I find just chatting to be as satisfying as concocting role play situations, because you're lucky to find a partner with the same niche interests (and preferences) as your own. Plus there's the issues of time zones and r/l work schedules as mentioned above.

So yes, nothing wrong with trying AI for role playing, though I haven't done so myself. Where I assume it's much easier to guide proceedings to suit your own tastes etc.

Nice to see you around again btw. We have spoken privately in the past, but a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then. So I hope things are going well with you.
